Won Grievance re: working over 12 hours

Just in case anybody else is being overworked, this info may help you. I recently filed a grievance for being forced many times to work over 12 hours. I would tell management I was tired or had a headache and their response was to threaten to write me up if I went home.

In my statement I asked for the union to make them stop threatening us with write ups and to let us go home at 12 hours if we aren't feeling well. I also suggested that I should be paid double time, like the penalty pay CCAs receive, for time worked over 12 hours.

The resolution was Management was ordered to cease and desist requiring us to work over 12 hours and they calculated all the time I worked over 12 hours in the last few weeks and I received a couple hundred dollars.

Hope this helps somebody in a similar situation

Our subs are overworked, under-compensated and not given the respect they have earned.
