Working a vacant route for a year. Holiday pay?

I used to put in for annual leave on holidays so I would be paid for the day off...........  but that was a long time ago and the union didn't challenge the ps when they changed those rules.

It is awful to be in leave status and lose a day's pay because it's a holiday and you don't receive holiday pay.   Should be able to put in for annual; but can't anymore.

Thanks for the replies. It sucks that my last job I was part time and as long as I worked my scheduled day b4 and after a holiday, I got paid holiday. Screwed again by usps. Haha

@postalserviceemployeenewman - you're still a sub, right?

Then, as Pastothirty said - no holiday pay.  On the upside, you are earning leave - so if you can, take off the day after the next holiday.  At least you won't have to work a miserable day like today.
