Working for an XDay by using a Code 3

Why is it that when we work our day off for a Code 3, we only get paid 50% of our daily pay, and when we take that Code 3 (XDay) we get paid nothing for that day. That just seems so unfair! So we are working on our day off for half the pay and no pay for the XDay. I thought I was getting paid for the XDay and found out that I am not!!

The X-day is not paid because it takes the place of your Relief Day that you did work. You simply swapped your Day Off for another but since you did swap, you do get the extra 50% pay. Had you not done the “swap” of your Relief Day, you would have been paid 150% & no time off at all.

simple enough dont use code 3 its a usps scam

Definitely not a scam. If people are smart and have decent management, my management will let me pick my day since we have hard enough finding any RCA that want to work my route. I do abide by 12 week rule at minimum.

It has allowed me to build up my leave to a point where I don't have to question about taking off in the future.

DACA 3 & DACA 5 end up paying out the same. Just mater if you want it up front or can wait for it.

@nholwor - get with your steward. you should be "paid" when taking your x day, as shown in @Deer Smearer's example.

my example: i work saturday.
next check i get 50% pay and X day shows in balance.
2 weeks later, i have a dr's appt. on the leave slip, i check x.
next check, i am paid for that day off and my x balance now
shows zero.

hope that helps.

I checked my check, I got the 50% pay for working my relief day, Saturday. When I took the Xday, the balance showed zero, but I did not get paid the that Xday!! Our Supervisor said that is the way it is done. No pay for an Xday.
