Yet another postage hike today. Bad for rural carriers

The 8 percent fuel surcharge goes into effect today. For is rural carriers that means less mail and therefore less pay as our evaluations decrease. The post office desperately needs a new service we can offer. Why do we not have a near monopoly on delivering medicine?

8% increase on everything across the board or just certain products? Postal banking could have helped people out but god forbid we actually try to empower the populace of this country.

So, us pov carriers get that 8% too right? They are charging for the fuel we are buying/using, so that money is going to us, right? Right? 🙄

Yeah shocker us POV carriers get screwed. Sure glad I drove about 6 more extra miles today than what I am getting paid to drive too on top of 2 cents decrease while USPS is collection 8% surcharge and OH GAS WENT UP ANOTHER 20 cents in 3 days. 4.29 to 4.49

We are being played by the system so that we are to busy fighting ourselves to think about constructive solutions.

If you take a delivery system remove all the profit centers and keep all the cost centers you will not be financially solvent. This will be true even if the system is a healthy one which the Postal Service may not be.

The way I see it we have three choices close down the Postal System, have the profit centers pay for the cost centers or subsidize the system. So far, we have chosen to subsidize the Postal Service while trying to pretend we are not doing this. In the long term this is a very costly decision

Didn’t they just lower mileage rate I. January!?
Funny how they are quick to lower but when gas price skyrocket by over $1-$2/gal….🦗
Listen, you guys in here are smart enough to understand how EMA works. It changes at specific times of the year, and yes it's ALWAYS behind because it uses info from the past to determine the upcoming change. When it goes up it will stay up for the same period after prices go down (hopefully it goes down).. There is no instant effect on EMA either up or down.
