believe we lost a step 4 on that maybe 2002?I have always thought that if a customer is being charged parcel rate, then piece should BE a parcel.
But that would make sense.

Imagine the reaction to our loading times. In our area, over 15 minutes and there is some explaining to do.
Thanks for bringing this up, Frozen. If there is a count in September, this subject will be high on my list for the pre-count discussion.Imagine the reaction to our loading times. In our area, over 15 minutes and there is some explaining to do.
So says the person who created a poll asking us all to speculate on this subject. There's only about a month left until notification is required for the 30 advance notice..... so, wth.... let's spend that month with endless speculation.... or, just wait the month, then we'll know....
Glad you reminded me.... I need to go check the speculation level in that thread.... ?So says the person who created a poll asking us all to speculate on this subject.
You think 30 seconds per parcel is fair?WOW.... I couldn’t believe it. ? What is this world coming to! ? I actually agreed with Louie regarding time standard being fair.
close... when annyyy thingg over 5" rigid, or 1 9/16 inches thick or anything that cannot be bent or damaged is counted as a parcel, so the 20 seconds we get for those make up for it ( instead of the 10 seconds for a flat and loading time)... boy, sometimes you have to see something in writing to realize how stupid it sounds... i need the 10 seconds we get for delivering a parcel to move stuff and slide across the streetYou think 30 seconds per parcel is fair?
They won’t implement RRECS until we get more than 10 seconds lugging that 70 lbs parcel 1/2 mile down the driveway. They know it, I know it, you are catching on.close... when annyyy thingg over 5" rigid, or 1 9/16 inches thick or anything that cannot be bent or damaged is counted as a parcel, so the 20 seconds we get for those make up for it ( instead of the 10 seconds for a flat and loading time)... boy, sometimes you have to see something in writing to realize how stupid it sounds... i need the 10 seconds we get for delivering a parcel to move stuff and slide across the street

I don’t think that is the issue here. The issue is we are not getting paid to take the parcel to the front door. That’s roughly about 1:30 minutes extra, sidewalk to front door and back. You think 30 seconds per parcel is fair?
You said it beautifully, if they don’t show up it’s an accountable. You filled out the 3849 and left in box if no one came in the time it took to write it up.
Think about the time everyone misses with signature items...we were told not to risk your health by going to the door and simply write c-19/ route#We definitely do not want the rrecs standards.
I wonder though if actual mail volume will return to pre-covid levels. In my office letters are way lower than the usual summer lull and flats are way down for all routes.
Sure parcels are above average for all days of the week and can spike to hundreds more scans some days here.
Still even with the parcel increase we don’t get enough time with the current standards. So if we have a count in sept and regular mail doesn’t come back by then, including like certs and things which are way down as well, will anyone really benefit from it? I doubt this will be over by sept.
I know you want credit for the parcels I would too. I don’t think it would be in our best interest to have a national count with irregular volume and covid cases rising in 30 plus states. I would hope someone in the union higher ups wouldn’t allow to have one in these circumstances. Some routes that are close to busting and get a lot regardless would do fair but I think most routes would stay stagnant or possibly even lose time.
Until the parcel time standard is corrected to a realistic credit we will get screwed either way.
yup....if they're a letter...they'd come in a tray with .55 postage...?sighThey come in my spur tub and have a scan (I do every single one). They're not a letter.
Another point our union has failed to emphasize at negotiations...imoI have always thought that if a customer is being charged parcel rate, then piece should BE a parcel.

Or maybe not...???There's only about a month left until notification is required for the 30 advance notice..... so, wth.... let's spend that month with endless speculation.... or, just wait the month, then we'll know....
I think you got incorrect instructions. You still go to the door with the accountables.Think about the time everyone misses with signature items...we were told not to risk your health by going to the door and simply write c-19/ route#
Although during a count who knows what they will tell us
