Yes, under RRECS. People will enjoy the extra pay temporarily and when your route gets cut 4-5-6-7 hours, then what?
For me, retire.... but your point is well taken, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if that's what's gonna happen to a lot of peeps out there... 🤷‍♂️ 🥲

I know I am late, but...

Wow, may have to provide documentation for leave..that's BS

I think we should go one calendar year out from date of submission.
I say this because that is how the program is set up in Lite blue...you can put in for one year out.
If that is how USPS has it set up in their system, why should we agree to lower it to 60 friggin days??? So stupid.

And "provide documentation " so I am supposed to sign on and pay for a cruise, then submit for leave so I can provide proof of travel, and then you deny, and I still have to pay for cruise...again stupid.
There you go applying logic and common sense to NRLCA negotiations results. I have yet to see anything that they have done that has been from a proactive stance. They have a long history of being a reactionary organization. They solicit Zero input from any of us that are actually in the trenches and are out of touch with its membership!

I too also think that this is a possibility for up to a year after RRECS starting date, but not to the 4 to 7 hour extreme. My take of this is that a route with a current evaluation at or above a 45K may be targeted as overburdened with RRECS. Resulting in territory being removed from the route. Then after that territory has been removed, changes in the 52 weeks volume cause the evaluation to drop again. So that route could go from a 45K, RRECS kicks in 47K, cut territory 43K then the loss of Volume 41K!

The NRLCA should demand a freeze on the removal of territory for one full year (unless requested by the Carrier) after the implementation of RRECS.

Seriously, NRLCA won't demand anything. And route size reduction was one of their behind door selling points to implement this system in the first place.

The 5.6% is going forward from February 22. It will not apply to the entire period from may 21. I know most are going to vote for the money. It's ok. Everyone has a voice if they mail in a ballot. I just would be sad to see people thinking they will get enormous, never before seen money...and it doesn't show up. Budget accordingly. The increase will raise your high 3 marginally. Or just play DPS reviews to 48 k.

My dental and yearly physicals are typically scheduled 6 months to 1 year in advance.
Yeah, as mentioned by @martian ... the new rule is about AL... don't think it should impact SL...

I usually put in the leave slips the week before my appointments, even tho I know about them months ahead of time.... 🤷‍♂️ 🧐

Even the 3.9% GWI for this contract is better than the past 2 contracts gave us.... I just don't get all the fuss about this one.... 🤷‍♂️ 🧐

When was the last time we saw a 5.6% bump in our wages???? 🤷‍♂️ 🤑

Not too many are even discussing the money. Mostly, those unhappy with the new proposal are frustrated about the increasing likelihood of less than desirable working conditions and hours. The balance is lost. I agree, the rural system used to be great. Those days are gone. But, it doesn't mean we red headed children are going to just happily accept slimmy gruel, either.

I sorta get that.. but not really seeing how this contract is necessarily making conditions any worse... mostly unknowns, like RRECS... I think the leave thing is being overblown... it actually improved the process with the 3 day rule, which is something I've heard peeps complain about in the past... I get that peeps have Covid fatigue, Amazon fatigue, etc.... but not sure this contract created any of that... 🤷‍♂️ 🧐

If approved the full 5.6% would take effect next month. The January cola is a delayed increase. The July one was payable in late August of 21. I'm not upset about receiving the full cola. It's the working duties that I'm pretty certain will further degrade our craft.
Which one's????

Considering the status of inflation this "new free money" isn't much of an offset. Most experts believe that we'll see similar increases through this coming year. That erodes everyone's buying power by 20% roughly.

I'm voting negative.

I guess everybody believes some arbitrator is gonna give us some big @$$ pay raise..... yeah, maybe they'll offer up $25k exit bonuses for retirees too... let's dream big.... 🤷‍♂️ 🤣
