Postmaster General mulls cutting one day of mail delivery as financial woes mount

But.. by golly... When it comes to carriers... mngt demands, every piece everyday.... when it comes to mngt's delaying the mail, oh we don't have a carrier so let it sit for a few days or a week...

When I first started in the late 90's... standard practice was to skip the box as long as there was no 1st Class mail... piece of junk mail, they can wait until tomorrow.... and to me, that makes sense... makes delivery faster and less expensive... Which of course is why they don't do it that way now, and why they used to be profitable and now they're bankrupt.. go figure...

But....back in the 90s almost every home received at least one piece of first class mail, so we were stopping anyway.

So question: How do you all think it would work for J and H routes if they ever really do cut delivery to 5 days a week? Would they make those carriers deliver packages on the days they aren't delivering their route anymore?

Seems to me they would become K routes by default.

Boy Howdy is that the truth....just go to any local auction, or estate sale, on a hot day. You'll get downwind of someone, and when they raise their hand to bid, it'll bout knock you out...

they need to eliminate at least 50% of management and completely do away with the safety department. They also need to do away with postmasters sitting in front of a computer screen doing nothing but filling out needles forms and being micromanaged to death. That way they could do some real worthwhile work. My old postmaster said she couldn’t get anything done because of the stupid crap they had her doing on the computers and the ridiculous telecom's.

Funniest thing ever is that mail volume is down dramatic YET we have double the supervisors since 2014.

1997 1 supervisor every 20 carriers
2014 1 supervisor every 15 carriers
2024 1 supervisor every 7 carriers

Seriously??? Also someone explain to me how hard it is to watch these carriers? It is on screen I could watch all Carriers in my office on 1 screen without zooming in. I mean it isn't hard, but this place just adds more dumb everyday to management.

Honestly IMO I feel how they justify all these supervisors is #1 hiring process (hiring whoever has a pulse) and #2 making them do so much stupid to these PM to do they justify adding management because thry can't do all of that stupid stuff.

You know the K.I.S.S. method needs to be applied here.
