I just noticed this today also. As "C$$" has questioned, how do they know what is a SPR?I may be the last person to notice this but Parcel Lookahead now tells you if a package is a SPR.
And how do they know what type of receptacle the customer has? Most routes out here have tiny, locked box openings. 1.5" pill bottles won't fit.First I've heard of it.
Any guess how they are determining SPRs?
If an office has a PASS Machine, there is a photo of the parcel, SPR, etc. as it was scanned AAU.I just noticed this today also. As "C$$" has questioned, how do they know what is a SPR?
And still DOES NOT mean it can fit in mailbox even if it is recorded as an SPR-many reasons can require you to take that to door...box may be completely full -JUST ONE EXAMPLE!!!!!If an office has a PASS Machine, there is a photo of the parcel, SPR, etc. as it was scanned AAU.
Oh , I agree totally. My post above is only a guess and I could be totally wrong about the monitoring consistent SPR to the door deliveries. There will always be the SPR to the door on scattered locations on the route for all kinds of reasons. And still DOES NOT mean it can fit in mailbox even if it is recorded as an SPR-many reasons can require you to take that to door...box may be completely full -JUST ONE EXAMPLE!!!!!
Oh, I don’t think it has anything to do with RRECS—I don’t know what it’s for but it might be helpful if you’re looking for a package to know if it’s a SPR.The size of the parcel was already available . I've not even heard of anyone anywhere being questioned as to why they took a pill bottle to the door. Not saying it hasn't happened though, but my guess is that "they" are going to focus on deliveries to the door. Yes, there are plenty of times we take SPRs to the door along with the dog food or along with the mail and certified letter(s).
I see what you are saying. I just have NEVER know them to do anything to actually assist us in our duties. You know as well as myself or anyone else that ANYTHING implemented by the PO under the guise of "help" has either cost us money, time, discipline, scrutiny, harassment, or a combination of one or more , including all, of the aforementioned.Oh, I don’t think it has anything to do with RRECS—I don’t know what it’s for but it might be helpful if you’re looking for a package to know if it’s a SPR.
There are carriers who use Parcel Lookahead to mark their parcels—- they scan everything under Load Truck, and then use the list to mark parcels, so that might be helpful if you use one marker for a SPR and a different one for a large, you would be able to tell what is what on the list.
exactly!!! I had a cost analysis done on my route a few weeks ago. Wish they came everyday... lightest day in 2 years lol The clerk had all the parcels she thought wouldn't fit in a box off to the side and went through everyone of them asking....... fit?? fit??? Never once asked about the mediums that would fit due to large mailbox. And then I came across a pill bottle for one of those crazy boxes.......... doesn't fit!And how do they know what type of receptacle the customer has? they do that for 2 routes in my office. Both routes are a separate town/zip and has to be scanned separately from our Town/zip. I would actually love it if they did this for all routes. One of the offices I now work in once a week does and it makes life a little easier imo.Can you foresee Clerks sorting these SPRS into other tubs and presenting them to us like they do for City craft?
They have been doing this for YEARS in my office. We have city but WAY more rural. Big 'ole blue buckets full of SPRs. Now, they are not presented to us ( city or rural ) but the tubs are in the parcel area with the hampers. Heck, we all even have an "extra" blue bucket we keep at our cases for the times when we need to swap out due to overflow. Can you foresee Clerks sorting these SPRS into other tubs and presenting them to us like they do for City craft?
Well, defining something as a SPR isn't really dependent on the size of the mailbox. That's the way we rurals define it, but it's not the USPS definition which I believe is whether or not it fits into the satchel. I actually had to research this once and I'll find the documentation and post it here later when I have more time. And how do they know what type of receptacle the customer has? we're like an abused spouse... they must really love us the way they beat us. or when you don't get any affection, even a good beating feels good... been here since the mid 80's.. but the late 90's onward, everything the good ol po has done for/to rural, i think, js, we can quit calling it a conspiracy theory....Again... just a conspiracy theory
