Parcel Lookahead

So I figured out yesterday that if you have any SPRs along with your larger loaded parcels, it's going to show them all as a SPR and you won't get the green check.

Example, if you have a large parcel in the back that you scanned with load truck, and then a SPR up front, after you deliver the SPR the parcel in the back will also still show as a SPR.

And how do they know what type of receptacle the customer has? Most routes out here have tiny, locked box openings. 1.5" pill bottles won't fit.
They can probably figure out the size of the box based on past deliveries to box and door since parcel size is known beforehand.

Sounds accurate and they blame you of course. They crammed another amazon office into ours because of renovations. Two clerks walked out today and one got sent home for hostile work environment. Can’t wait to see how Christmas goes.

Rumors have been swirling about making our office a Sunday amazon delivery. We have one sub. Let’s do some hiring first before adding more work. For those of you with Sunday delivery, if it does get delivered, does that make Monday lighter or just the same as it always was with amazon? So if it doesn’t get delivered we’ll get Sunday on top of a normal Monday avalanche?
They added Amazon Sunday in our office only for the 3 weeks in December… they brought 4-6 pallets on Sunday. 20+ every other day of the week. It was misery.

In my experience, if you load truck scan your SPRs it changes them from brown envelopes to green trucks.

In our high density city, all the other delivery services use our boxes. If a customer hasn't pulled prior days mail or other service has filled the receptacle- it goes to the door. I don't have much faith in the AI to figure out these intricacies. They may ask why deliveries to door have increased but, unless they ride with you...its not discernible from a scanner choice.

Hmmm. I don't use Load Truck so not sure how that's affecting this.

To answer other questions, it appears to be using the parcel dimensions as well as weight, as I had a large square (clothing?) item shipped in a plastic bag, only weighed a few ounces and easily fit into a standard size mail box. It showed up as a large item (i.e. not a SPR) on Parcel Lookahead.

I didn't even know the system bothered to track the dimensions of an item this size, but apparently it does.

Or else it's assigning the SPR designation randomly, which could be the case . . .

Again, I don't think there's any reason to get excited about this, I just posted because I found it interesting to see what the scanner is doing now.

Fun story, once worked in a building that lost A/C for a week in the summer. It's was unbearable according to clerks who walked out. It was a whopping 87 degrees. We laughed and told them real usps employees work in 120+.
Yep...cooler than our govs..
