Amazon Bull@$*!

I was just notified by this week's rotating Amazon manager that our start time was moved from 10:15 to 11:15. When it starts at 10:15 I don't get home until after 6:00 p.m. tonight it's going to be between 7 and 8. I asked why the time was moved hoping it was just a late truck but it was due to volume. 10:15 is too late of a start time to begin with. When I did Amazon out of another office we would start between 8:00 and 9:00. I don't know what's going on but when the time changes and it gets dark at 4:00 this is going to be a nightmare. I plan to spend the week researching other employment opportunities. The postal service has no respect for their employees at all.

The usps hasn't exactly been known for putting employees in successful work environments. It's more a case of finding the random, weird, odd tasks and tossing a bunch of challenging conditions at you to keep you from successful work completion.
Something like: here's 600 deliveries. You get a broken vehicle that runs with a 130 degree cabin temperature, stalls out everytime you stop and a scanner that freezes up and stops working in the hot vehicle. Btw, you need the scanner to do everything...don't die and be back early.

100% true

This is seriously a LIFE, AND DEATH situation.....something needs to be done. I've had MORONIC, AND SOCIOPATHIC mgmt carelessly toss me into multiple "MY LIFE IS AT RISK" situations...and until you are willing to put your foot down, and say no to those kinds of situations, they will just continue to use, and abuse you. IT ALL COMES DOWN TO YOU, "THE CARRIER", when are you going to take the fight to them, and give them some "RURAL TRAINING", which is my code words for, a SWIFT KICK IN THE HINDEND, until the dumb mgmt starts to get a clue...

Management at our place is purposely scheduling only enough people to keep each route at around 300 parcels(if amazons estimate for sunday is correct)

Last report I saw was nationwide we have almost 70% turn over rate on part timers...why in the hell would you TRY to make sunday suck as bad as possible? Schedule twice as many and get them home earlier to enjoy what is left of their non weekend.

Requires having the staffing from the get go…. It’s a vicious cycle that usps won’t even try to address or fix.

I know it's real easy for me to say this (retired) but there is simply no way I'd rush to get done on Sunday. I've read it here and actually seen it in action, the RCA's delivering on Sunday bust their asses to get done asap. I get it you want to be at home on Sunday afternoon so you rush. But you are being paid hourly to do your job in a safe workman like manner and that includes taking a real lunch break. I'd make them pay me for every minute possible.

Brother,

As say this in peace; but don't question the Supreme Retailer.
Tis The Will of Amazon.

But seriously,
I did try to be independent/defiant and drag feet all Sunday, but the results were still depressing. I'd get home after dark.
People at church asking wife "Still?!"
The worst was that the dogs even were reported to be anxious when the sun set. This set of dogs are pure pets.

I just wanna know what makes Sunday so special that carriers have to start several hours later than normal start time????

Amazon just dropping off that late or just people in office chair making dumb decisions.
I asked several times about this, and it sounded like just because that's when they start their own workers start deliveries on Sunday.

Never a thought that many RCAs have to travel, return, sort, load all over again before beginning to deliver up to 2 hours later.

Amazon wanted more time to get more parcels to drop points. In reality Mondays still blow major 🫏 🏀 and no real decline in volume. It does mean clerks do not get paid before 6 am premium, and Amazon doesn’t pay more for drivers to drop.

Oh the whole no volume but need more time. Sounds similar to another place I know.

In a real world, the company delivering for Amazon would accept the 11:00 am drop and schedule the delivery for the next day. Similar to UPS and FedEx. LOL I've seen many of my orders arrive at the local UPS and FedEx at 4:00 am. So I'm getting all excited because it's parts or some I really need. Even get a text saying your parcel has arrived and is out for delivery........... get home and check tracking....... out for delivery............ 7 pm....... 8 pm............. check again......... out for delivery........ will arrive by 8 pm....................... check back at 8:30....................... your package will arrive by 8pm (with tomorrow's date)
