Annual Leave Pay

Why is it when I take 8 hours of Annual Leave it is paid at a much lower rate ($2.31/hr. less) than if I had worked 8 hours on my route as a Regular.

mine is eval not hourly
After looking at it, that is close to what mine comes out to be. Evaluation!

The route is a 6 day route @ 43 evaluated hours or 7.17 hrs per day.
If I work 6 days I am paid $958.38 or $22.13/hr.
If I take 1 day of annual leave they deduct 8 hrs. of annual leave, because that is the minimum and I am paid $158.56 for that day which is $19.82/hr.

So, am I to assume that when I move to a 9 hr./day route, that they will take 8 hrs. of annual leave but pay me for 9 hours?

take you annual salary from the salary chart....... I'm assuming 49,472
on an H route there a 312 days of work per year (286 on J) (260 on K)
So 49472/312 = 158.56 is your daily rate of pay

6 x DR = 951.36 so you must have some 8127 or 2nd trips in that 958.38 figure.....

8hrs of leave is a DAY for rural carriers.... a DAY is subracted even though it could be 6 hours or 9.40 hours

as to what you make per hour, you have to go the the 40 hour pay for your step and divide it by 2080
That give you $20.81

20.81 X 40 hours per week = 832.40 per week.... X 52 weeks =43284.08 *btw this is real world rounding to 2 decimal while Eagan doens't round to 2 when calculating actual annual salary is why it's off by 7 dollars

Now 150% of 20.81 X 3 (for you overtime hours) or 31.22 X 3 hours per week = 93.66 per week X 52 weeks =4870.32

4870.32 + 43284.08 (remember this is rounded to 2 decimal point) =48154.80 chart says 48157

So off by 2 bucks by rounding errors.

But anyway that is how you determine your hourly rate and then your normal overtime rate
