Hello, Yep, I'm a newbie, or at least hopefully will be. I have my own personal vehicles, but they are all floor shifted automatics. No, I'm not seeking a new RH drive or anything. I'm just seeking something economical to start with, for sure. It needs to be a "step through" that I can drive from the right side. Do we need special insurance for using our personal vehicles? Thank you for your help.

Older models bench seat if possible. As far as insurance check with your insurance and make sure you get what they tell you in writing dated signed. I prefer my ford ranger, have used minivans, explorer, s10. All had shifter on steering column. Have taken out center consoles built an insert to make them bench seat.
Also if you can't get one with shifter on column, you can always buy conversion kit or have one done at place in Tennessee or if handy can do it yourself. They aren't terribly price and worth it IMO especially if you are close to Tennessee.

Chevy Impala (Again late 90s to roughly 2010) S10, Blazer, & Jimmy
Most minivan
CR-V are good too
Jeeps only with 4.0 motor (early Jeep in 1990s) (I personally avoid Jeeps because high cost)

Like oi veh said, the route type really depends heavily, region you live in, and also how mechanically inclined you are also skews results. Package heavy smooth suburban route I'd suggest a pre 2008 caravan and build a bench to sit on in the center. If the route is long and rough and low volume; AND you do your own work, then I'd suggest a pre 98 rhd Cherokee. Absolute pinnacle of durability, but minor age related break downs will kill you if you don't do your own work. Do not let someone sucker you into a jeep built past 2006, they are junk. As the saying goes with jeeps, 6 in a row good to go, 6 in a V, let it be.
