Contract

They know a backlash is coming when this crap is exposed to the craft. The vast majority don't even know one thing about rrecs. With alot of us with Amazon gone, the loses will be stunning. For me, 8 to 10 hr loss weekly.

Totally agree... have read your previous posts about running your numbers, so I know you're not just talking off the cuff... I think the USPS & NRLCA should announce a route hold like they did before FSS, so there will be territory available to do rebuilds...

Did anyone read where the Ronmeister was talking about all the route numbers going up in the September newsrag??? RRECS will be the USPS's answer to that... just sayin'... :oops:

Yes, I see signs of people that are angry but that is not a back lash.

I see no signs of people organizing even on a small scale and that is what it will take to cause a back lash.
 
R5, 8-10 hrs/week?
We currently get 30 seconds/parcel, and I would gladly "get rid" of my 100 Amazon parcels and lose those 50-80 minutes/ week (30 more minutes because of losing the scan also) to not have to work 2-3 hours delivering them.
I think it is easy for people to want to be rid of Amazon. Yes, we are currently getting screwed big time on our parcel allowance for these big packages. The problem comes in though when you don't get the new parcel allowance plus have to live on all of the other new time standards. Then you will be losing that 50-80 + 30 minutes for parcels and also have losses in about every other category there is and suddenly people are going to be wishing they had more packages to deliver.

Because of the ignorance of our craft, which alot comes from our incompetent association, and alot from the craft not bothering to educate themselves, the vast majority won't know whats going on when they look at their check and notice the huge hit after a year of data. It's going to get ugly. That's when the majority will no longer be ignorant of what's rrecs is. What that response will be from the carriers, we shall see. What will the association response be, we shall see. I know what rrecs will do with all the new standards, but where this will take us as a craft, will there be lawsuits or grievances, with the association demand hourly or say it is what it is, I don't know.
 
Formalizing as a skilled trade would influence the membership of the craft to invest in knowledge of their “trade”. Professional censure would help too, where discipline was levied by a panel of peers instead of by a “boss”.
Sounds suspiciously like communism. Wouldn't they be "workers councils" or something like that. Rejecting bosses is rejecting capitalism.

Good point, thought the same. Haven't decided for myself what's better. Fewer deliveries with Amazon, or more deliveries with no Amazon. Amazon has been gone for a few months here and makes a big difference but when rrecs hit they will have to give me more deliveries from the aux route. Think I would rather deal with more mail and more boxes than dealing with Amazon. With Amazon coming and going many times the last 5 years, this could cause problems with rrecs. Large parcels are the biggest gain under rrecs, but you never know with Amazon when they could all of the sudden appear, or all of the sudden disappear. 40 to 50 extra trips to the door daily for Amazon could be 12 hrs for my route weekly. What's management going to do if your route is a 44 k with Amazon and then Amazon go away 2 years into rrecs? Or your a 44 k with no Amazon, and 2 years in Amazon appears? Don't see them adjusting routes constantly.

I don't see the people on this board trying to organize even on a small scale. So, I doubt ignorance of the problems is the sole cause. Perhaps ignorance of how to organize?

Two points....if you have an aux you could pull from that is great but that's not going to work for a lot of routes. I remember before the Wells arbitration every route in my office was a large K. After that we were all J's and H's. Fortunately for us we had a very large aux that we broke up but that only created two small K's and the rest were still in the J and H category. So I think for most carriers more mail/more boxes will not be a choice it will only be less pay. I have also wondered how often evaluations would change. I still haven't heard any definate answer on this.

I should have added 4 posts ago...in my office nobody knows wtf is going on and they don't care to educate. But they like to bi*"# about it.
Let's face it, lot of us are taken n what there giving, cus they're working for a living. Squeeky wheel gets oil...not necessarily a positive thing...any thoughts?
 
I've tried to tell people. They don't care, keep on running their fool heads off, even during Christmas, even when we have late trucks, even when...the old days of skating are. over. Gone be a lot of folks crying in their beer afore this is all over.

@Lady Carrier - well aware. Do you remember a few contracts ago where we had to sign it to see what was in it? Same concept. That was tentative language in this new contract and we still ain't seen the final language in print. Just sayin'. ;) :)
