This reads as if we are waiting for the coming, "As a thief in the night".

The problem is we are dealing with flesh and blood mortals. Who are scared and should be.

No matter who comes to save us the problems we face must still be dealt with. If all of our answers are handed down to us from a new leadership nothing has changed. Sure you may feel better about it for a while but in the end nothing would be gained.

This is why boring things as the structure of the organization become important. No matter how hard we try some one is going to get a bad deal. All we are able to do is to try to make an honest system to put changes forward.

If we are stuck with our union then maybe some demands should be issued to them. Like at a certain point in our careers are pay should never go down. Or even just put us on the clock. Or stop this rrecs mess and pay us by our seniority levels not a rt evaluation number. Idk but demands should be in place in my opinion.

Perhaps we may borrow or rent experts in specific areas to help us.
Teamsters for a democratic union has been fighting to change their union for many years. Change is not a matter of getting a new leader and instantly fix the problem. Even with the right people it takes time and effort.

We have paid staff on the national level perhaps we may purchase skills we need.

Anyone showering praise on rrecs because they think it’s fair that they are working less than eval in the summer is new or bad at math, or perhaps just overwhelmed you didn’t get as bad as the guy/gal next to you. It is summer. You should be comfortably beating low volumes.

When the summer volume is factored in and evaluations go down, and simultaneously volume ramps up with peak, a lot of tunes will change.
News flash, the summer volume is always factored in.
Rrecs evaluations are based on the past 12 months of data.

Oh then. Just thinking of all the money saved if I had dressed to the annual yearly temperature here instead of buying heavy jackets, boots, shorts, and drifit Tshirts to meet the imaginary change of seasons.

The way to sign for decertification is to too much for most of people. I doubt they could get enough signature in time.
🤷 maybe,, maybe change starts here.
We need something, and the fact of many folks jumping ship says theyvwill change with or without NRLCA helping us. They need to wake up

Definition between an Associate union and a Union:
An association is an organization of people with a common interest or purpose. People form associations for a number of reasons such as retirement issues, professional certification, and even employee welfare or work issues. A union is a type of association, though with one major difference: members of a union have the legal right to engage in collective bargaining with an employer, and the employer is legally obligated to bargain with the union1.

Associations offer more flexibility and autonomy for their members, while unions provide stronger bargaining power and protection for workers’ rights2.

I'm eyeballing the exit pretty hard at this point as well..... my only regret about NRLCA getting the axe would be, maybe not being able to go to that NRLCA sponsored golf scramble as a retiree.... js.... lots of retirees may be disappointed at the loss of these annual shindigs.... 🤔 🤷‍♂️
All those Arthur Murray lessons would be wasted if there was no longer a Boot Scootin' Boogie.

I still haven't signed the decert petition.
I can't get myself to do it.
What we currently have could be better if active regular rurals would just invest time and energy into it. We just need to flood it with our efforts and find the gems among us that can build toward a future. EZ PZ right?
Going to district meeting....God I hope it doesn't fizzle my enthusiasm.
Signing the petition doesn’t decertify the union it is just putting it on a ballot for a majority vote next year. Once the signatures are validated if they meet the 30% criteria then the next step would occur. But not until this point can alternative unions be involved in the process. The Teamsters or any other options could then make their interests in representation known. You could then determine whether or not you were good with status quo or wanted change. There would still be time to weigh options. Some will attack this post claiming the Teamsters have already declined us, problem is at this point they couldn’t legally show an interest in representing us.

Really is nice when someone dislikes you stating a fact. I guess they don’t want to be bothered with actual facts. Furthermore, then you offer an option of allowing carriers an individual choice between being hourly or evaluated and they dislike that. So then l guess they are also against individual choice. But at least I’m helping them retain the dislike crown.

Yes. I understand the petition is just to show a 30% interest from the craft to allow a decertiication vote to occur. I haven't decided whether I want to contribute to the 30% yet. Currently on the fence. I am still taking in all viewpoints until I can figure out what seems like the best decision. I also understand even if we sign to decertify we wouldn't need to actually decertify the NRLCA.
I need to feel 100% confident with my choice.

I do want better.....that I know with 100% confidence. How to get better isn't as clear at the moment.
I applaud the fact you want further clarification and information. Signing the petition is a just the first step, you can make your ultimate decision if it comes to a vote next spring.
