Does one have to wait a year?...

Hello,, word in our office is that once you accept a new route, you have to wait a year before you can bid on a different route.. I'm having trouble finding clarification. Is this true, or??

Solution
The only time one year is mentioned in our contract is concerning new employees waiting one year to bid on a route. Everyone else has no wsit time.
For all rural carriers, anytime something doesn't sound right that management is telling you, ask for the contractual proof that what they are saying is true.
Shannonboy & RT2mailman are exactly right. I will go a step further in regard to the language "once you accept a new route" that you used. You bid, not accept as a rural employee. When bidding closes if you are the senior carrier the route is yours. There is no backing out of it after the bidding period ends. Be sure you want the route/position you bid on.
