Just curious but are they asking you to work the holiday or mandating? My day off is on Mondays.
I have yet to get my Saturday Holiday Day Off.
I am having a hard time understanding this.

Do RDWL peeps have dibs on Saturday work ahead of a "holiday" peep???They usually ask me the Wednesday before my assigned Holiday after they realize there will be the 12hr RCAs splitting issue. I say "ask" because they know I know the rules before they have to mandate me. There was another Step 12 REG on RDWL in office too on Saturday.
Guess you could always try to say no and see how that goes but then you run the risk of coming back to a mess if you don’t have a sub. I’m so lucky that my regular asks off the day after every holiday a year in advance and his K day is Monday. They usually ask me the Wednesday before my assigned Holiday after they realize there will be the 12hr RCAs splitting issue. The list is only for them to work their relief day. Working their day to observe the holiday isn’t them working their relief day. I could be wrong though.Do RDWL peeps have dibs on Saturday work ahead of a "holiday" peep???![]()
I was just wondering if someone on the RDWL would have a legit beef if they worked a holiday peep ahead of them.... I know they can't work a sub from an outside office ahead of a RDWL peep, or else they could grieve it.... not sure on the holiday peep tho...The list is only for them to work their relief day. the only way to force management to use a rdwl carrier, is for the monday guy, to request vacation adjacent to the weekend., or holiday. if your asking if they can grieve not working a saturday, that a monday holiday carrier is forced to work, the answer is no. the holiday on saturday worker, is not working their relief day.I was just wondering if someone on the RDWL would have a legit beef if they worked a holiday peep ahead of them.... Hey I actually would prefer to work the day after a holiday on my primary then anywhere else so he does me a favor. We had a regular put in 460hrs of annual to go to China. I was pretty surprised management approved it.A rite of passage for an RCA. Been there done that.
I do not put in for days off after a Holiday years in advance because my parents are advanced in years who live so far away it involves a flight. One gets a visit mid March and another around Thanksgiving for about a week each in a warmer climate . Both involve a full month of AL submission a year in advance which gets narrowed down to the bookings of flights and time for a visit at a later date. I am fortunate enough to have enough AL days saved it is a struggle to burn them down to 55 after flight bookings.

When I said hours I just saw his leave slip and I was shocked he had 400 plus to use. When it asked number of hours requested, he wrote 460.rurals put in days, not hours js
