Latest evaluation

Half of us went down a few hours but half went up to 45-48. We all compared load time. Those of us at 40s had less than 200 minutes load time. Those of us near 400 minutes were up by several hours. I can tell you one thing, I'm going to quit moving so fast in the mornings and take as long as everyone else this next year. I lost $15,000 last year and another $9000 this weekend. I will NOT take a other cut!
This is where they will get you though...as long as you stay in your AVERAGE range they wont say nothing BUT when that AVERAGE starts going UP---you are on the list...

Thank you, I've been thinking this for a while. They have no reason to care unless their money dries up.
Enough money was taken from me thru this broken system, I honestly hope the union crumbles. 19 years career and I'm close to just walking away. I lost 9 grand the first round of this crap and now from K to J...take my money or my time, but not both! Its just wrong what this system has done to people. Disgusting
So sad for you..if you are like my office and all around the subs that run your route when you are off DO NOT do the RRECS scans and the numbers tank because of it,,the more you are off of your route the lower the numbers get...this is a BIG problem and has been since the RRECS implementation. Union needs to look at this immediately as in 5 years ago and make it to where averages and numbers SHOULD NOT count toward evaluations UNLESS the regular is running the route!!!

I mean just like city routes only matter what pace the regular the works it. It doesn't matter about the other ones.

Does anyone know how the DPS letters time is computed? (Top line of form) About 75% of the rats, in my office have the EXACT same time in that box.. Some had that same number BEFORE being cut.....Interesting.

There are three different credits that add to this time.
1- Fewer than 400 pieces of DPS ( unlikely)
2 & 3 are credits for retrieving your DPS ( if your office has withdrawal)
Most routes average 3 trays. So the time credit would be 9.11 minutes.
4 trays would be 10.61 minutes.

We have always been a withdrawal office. The first evaluation in May of 2023 our incompetent pm didn’t check the right box. Everybody had 0 for DPS office time. We had 3 or 4 just rural carrier meetings out on the dock where the steward assured us she was filing a class action grievance so no need to dispute separately and even said that she talked to pm and they were supposed to fix. Turned out she did nothing. Every mms since that value has been 10.61mins. Lesson learned don’t ever trust nothing any union steward or anybody else says always act like you’re the only one fighting for what you deserve.

It happened today! It appeared in DPS of course, when the coverage percentages would be 95%+ without it for a Monday. Also got a missing Costco WSH bundle today that should have been delivered Saturday. Going to check the RADAR report tomorrow to see how much it tanked the Saturday percentages, as I was skipping boxes/stops that would usually get them.
Check your RADAR numbers if you get the Costco WSH on your route. MINE ARE MISSING 561 WSH coupon book flats and the other Costco Magazine WSH 308. I’m going to assume they should be under the Bundled flats line item.

We had mixed results in my office: six of the routes stayed the same (including mine), two went up, two went down. On one of the routes that went down, the carrier had been off for four months on maternity leave, and the other route had always been suspiciously high, IMO. Both of the routes that went up added new developments in the last two years.

Like everyone else, we got UPS back in January, so hoping we'll see increases for the September counts.

I tried to warn y'all.

They're trying to bury my now going on 9 month long grievance by saying through this latest mail count my route is evaluated at a 43K. Nothing added to, nor taken from my route since awarded this misposted route. Funny, just 5 months ago the re-evaluation said it was a 52K if there was such a thing.

Still no backpay or route split after they promised they would in a signed settlement. They simply do whatever they want, without any regard for workers. Their goal is to just hire contract workers like Amazon and get rid of rural carriers through constructive discharge. That's what they're currently doing to me after 10 years of loyal work.

The only way to fight this is:

If rural USPS carriers collectively refused to use the Rural Route Evaluated Compensation System (RRECS), the immediate result would be a massive operational breakdown in rural mail delivery, as the system is the legally mandated basis for pay and route evaluations. Without the system, carriers could not be paid according to the National Agreement, and the USPS would likely be forced to enforce mandatory work assignments under threat of termination or legal action, as the current contract requires adherence to the arbitration-decided formula.

The consequences would likely include:

  • Legal and Contractual Chaos: The system was established by a binding arbitration ruling and codified in the National Agreement; refusing to use it would constitute a breach of contract by the carriers, potentially leading to mass firings or union disciplinary action.
  • Pay Disputes and Back Pay: If carriers worked without RRECS data, the USPS could not calculate their "evaluation" hours, leading to inability to process payroll and a high likelihood of extensive litigation regarding back pay and damages.
  • Union Decertification Risks: A mass walkout or refusal to work under the system could accelerate the existing push for union decertification, but the NRLCA warns that leaving the union would erase five decades of contractual gains with no guarantee of reinstatement under a new agreement.
While some carriers have threatened to quit or organize decertification efforts due to pay cuts of up to $10,000 annually and the perception that RRECS reduces their hours, a complete abandonment of the system would not immediately solve the pay issues without a new agreement in place. The USPS has stated that the system is nationally negotiated and mandated, meaning any attempt to bypass it would result in the agency treating the routes as uncompensated work or enforcing the existing evaluation standards through administrative means.

Btw, thank you for trying to remain unemotional in a wage discussion. It's really hard for most carriers to correlate dropped wage to less duties in an honest manner. πŸ‘
Yeah....way to go....stay unemotional. Your whole stinking union, is staying that way. WHICH IS EXACTLY PART OF THE PROBLEM....😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑
IF SOME WORTHLESS UNION PEOPLE WOULD GET MAD AT HOW WE AS A CRAFT ARE GETTING ROBBED BLIND!!!!
AND COMPLETELY, AND TOTALLY SCREWED....MAYBE JUST MAYBE, SOME THINGS WOULD BEGIN TO CHANGE.
NRLCA=WORTHLESS, LIARS, CROOKS.
FIRE THEM ALL...πŸ˜‘πŸ˜‘πŸ˜‘πŸ˜‘πŸ˜‘πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ˜‘πŸ˜‘

I just wanna highlight the ONE BULLET POINT

5 decades of gain???? I wanna ask all people on this forum. I think most of those gains have been WIPED OUT with RRECS to a good majority of the people.

I mean I am on step 4 YET I AM MAKING NEARLY 5K less than when I was a regular in my 1st year. Is that really good????

I mean I think we put a board together of people on this forum, AND we could do better than NRLCA.

Granted they have gotten us so good stuff but I think that is them following the leaders to get it.

The unfortunate reality is that we have a toothless union. Not necessarily because they want to be, but because they have to be. We legally can't strike meaning when the bargaining table is set, we have practically no leverage. This paired with the continuous efforts to enshitify the postal service to make privatization more appealing to the public and lawmakers leaves us in a tough spot because god forbid an essential service costs a modicum of public funding to make sure its employees actually have enough to live. I don't know how some of the carriers in places like NYC or LA live making the lower steps of pay.
