Same at our office. Managers said last week that our package volume is up 16% from last year but most routes lost hours. It’s a money grab and with rrecs you can’t really win a grievance. They gonna take your handwritten numbers over what “the system” says?

Completely corrupt that we can’t even defend ourselves if we wanted to because we aren’t given access to our numbers daily

What I can't stand is how arbitrary it seems. Like I feel like we have no actual insight into how any of this crap is calculated and are just expected to accept sudden cuts in pay and time off every 6 months. Really leaving me feeling jaded with this job. My office volume has also been about the same with a fairly noticeable increase in parcels yet both routes in the office somehow lost over an hour. Hopefully there is an adjustment in the calculations but I won't be holding my breath.
Exactly!! I was confident I would stay the same or slightly go up because I have had very similar volume the last 6 months and same as you I had an increase in packages and trips to the door, yet somehow i lost 3 hours, it makes no sense and there is no way to defend ourselves but this all reeks of fraud

I am one of those newer regulars. I have fought for over 3 years now just trying to stay a K route. My route is now a 43J. 22 minutes under a 40K. Lost over 2 hours in 6 months.

I'm done fighting. 42 years old and fighting for 2 days off a week is ridiculous. I'm tired of fighting. I'm just gonna take their 43 money for now and look for a new job NOT at the Post Office.
It's very likely in your best interests

You make a good point, especially if that was your stand alone impression of daily package throughput. For me, my "feel", later bounced off the scanner end of day, occurred during load out. Hamper appearance in the A.M. was a coarse reading accompanied by the thought of how many were other route's and how many of mine were misthrown.

During the heavier Amazon days, many of the big ones belonged to an adjacent route. Oh what a feeling! 👍
I always compared end of day scanner entries, not what I thought I had. Real numbers per route.

In my office parcel volume is deceptive. We have Amazon and deliver a lot of large parcels and you can have multiple hampers full and still come out with only 150 scans for the day. We have a route with a new development that started getting two or three hampers full of parcels each day. Out of curiosity, another carrier--certain that the route must be getting 200-300 parcels a day--started checking his scans against the other route. Turned out, they were very similar. The other route just got a lot of bigger packages that made it seem like they were getting so much more.
Btw, thank you for trying to remain unemotional in a wage discussion. It's really hard for most carriers to correlate dropped wage to less duties in an honest manner. 👏

I don't want hourly for 1 reason. MY PLANT. IT IS BAD. Either everything or absolutely nothing which is usually 4-5 days a week. I don't want hourly for that reason.
I don't understand the argument here. If plant issues cause OT, they're responsible to pay you. The contract argues for a days wage. Under most hourly federal discussions...that means a minimum of 8 hours.
The only thing that might affect you is doing swing territory on a short day. But, most regular nalc never do swings. They just adjust their speed.

I posted this in another thread hope it's ok but have you noticed how much letters n flats come from your sorting facility. Or how broken up a full coverage mailer is spread out over multiple days . So your not getting the credits for those coverages.
The coverage manipulation is so blatantly obvious. When RRECS first started, full coverage’s in DPS were just that a full coverage. Now, for example, the Valpaks that come in my DPS are always missing the last 100 or so addresses. This has been occurring for the past 2 years. I used to have a 91% coverage factor that has dropped to 84% as you guessed it, in the past two years.

I’d get a pizza shop boxholder that used to come as a bundled full coverage and therefore would get the LettersWSS input. The very next time the pizza shop sent them they magically appeared run in the DPS letters. Of course, the last 100 boxes missing only to turn up the next day or two thus lowering coverage percentage. I’ve also had the reverse. The end of the route gets the coverage but the first 2/3rds don’t and this occurs when that front 2/3rds is light on letters.

It’s funny because it’s always happening to the same select few routes in the office.

We ALL need to cancel the union NOW!!!! Maybe then they might get it??? We don't deserve this horrible blind representation. Almost 23 years in any career should not ever be except able to continuously make less salary. The stress itself is unfair . Most all routes lost 2-3 hours. We now only have one k route and most are now h. And why can't we keep rcas?? 🤔

I find it very telling that out of 15 routes in my office, the ONLY ones that didn't lose time were our 21hr aux and the only H route we had prior to this eval.

We used to have 11Ks, 2Js, 1H and an aux.
Now it's 6Ks, 6Js, 2H and the aux.

If you cancel the Union they won't care since they wont exist. That said, i do agree they need to take notice and put some sort of block to such dramatic drops

Or how about your monthly WSS that is ALWAYS suppose to show up on tuesday or wednesday and at least quarter to half of the year it shows up Monday.

Half of us went down a few hours but half went up to 45-48. We all compared load time. Those of us at 40s had less than 200 minutes load time. Those of us near 400 minutes were up by several hours. I can tell you one thing, I'm going to quit moving so fast in the mornings and take as long as everyone else this next year. I lost $15,000 last year and another $9000 this weekend. I will NOT take a other cut!

Thank you, I've been thinking this for a while. They have no reason to care unless their money dries up.
Enough money was taken from me thru this broken system, I honestly hope the union crumbles. 19 years career and I'm close to just walking away. I lost 9 grand the first round of this crap and now from K to J...take my money or my time, but not both! Its just wrong what this system has done to people. Disgusting

I am at this point as well. My/Our future is looking more grim with each evaluation.

But aside from simply leaving the union in frustration: what other actions could we take to spur them in the a$$ to stop this bs they've gotten us into? Threaten to leave? Plead with them to stop making excuses against our behalf? Negotiate us turning hourly (I'll chill under a shady tree every couple blocks like the city carriers). What can our union really do for us at this point anyway? Sure seems they've been neutered by the post office...making us carriers powerless in so doing.

It happened today! It appeared in DPS of course, when the coverage percentages would be 95%+ without it for a Monday. Also got a missing Costco WSH bundle today that should have been delivered Saturday. Going to check the RADAR report tomorrow to see how much it tanked the Saturday percentages, as I was skipping boxes/stops that would usually get them.

The issue is 5 days of absolutely nothing for the 1 day that they dump the mail. That's the issue.
