Leaving packages at Apt doors.

No study here, but the only pkgs that aren't attempted at the door (that won't fit into mailbox/lockers) are the houses more than 1/2 mile from route, 'loose dogs' homes, AND the apt complexes. The complexes in our area use the existing notification procedures per the rules for multi-tenant buildings EXCEPT for the one complex. I think there was a security issue or something similar in their office.

I'm just glad I don't have to deal with that BS. I have one bank building that is real PAIN to climb those stairs at 4-5 pm after already being exhausted from the 'stop & hops' and trip-after-trip loading my collections after delivering 100-150 pkgs beforehand. I do my job within a few hours of my eval (up & down) & I try to follow the rules to the best of my ability. We have carriers that get back super-early by taking shortcuts and then there are a few of us that don't. I don't since we never know when/if mgmt is watching.

I just want to reply to M-O-N on apartments and parcels. My route is 1059 boxes, 600 of them are apartments 250 are businesses and another 219 or so are a residential neighborhood. My 600 apartments get 200 packages every day. I am very lucky to have the ability to leave the large packages in the office but I promise you I would much rather have a 700-800 residential only route as they are much easier no matter what driveways I have to drive down or dogs I leave notices for. The audacity of your post that someone who receives more than double the package volume of most "residential" routes and still gets paid the same or less due them having CBU's is not doing their job because they don't want to climb 100 to 200 staircases a day while you have to walk 15 ft to a door is ridiculous. Seriously, you sound like a supervisor with your do your job or do something else bull. Have a nice day

no one does the work you do, and everyone else, always has it easier, right

if you don't like your route, bid to another.  the problem being the 100-150 packages you leave at the office every day, screws the average for people that don't have that option, and have to deliver all packages to the door, but good for you...  there are carriers that have the number and volume that you do, that don't have that option.
