Mail Survey (Mini Mail Count): So Why Do You Think They're Tracking If We Take DPS to the Street or Not?

But that's why I asked!! I'm just curious how I can accurately keep track of that number while I am delivering mail at the same time...
Actually, and I HAVE done this before SEVERAL TIMES, what you do is this ; you take EACH tray of DPS and invert it......then you just count the upside down pieces. See, all the mail that is run inverted , which is the majority of it , will then be right side up leaving you with the originally right side up mail now inverted which is the lesser number. You then deduct the right side up pieces from the EOR and THAT'S how many INVERTED pieces you originally had.

That's very fair. I wouldn't have an issue with that if that was my office. It would be different if the so carrier was intentionally dragging feet to get the help. That's when I get mad.

In my old office, this carrier got a little less mail than me and started 45 minutes before I did, and yet I was beating him out of the office. He dragged feet or would talk morning then beg for help and they would give it. I just got tired of it. I shouldn't have to help carrier dragging his feet to intentionally get help.
It is the phone people who would drive me nuts if I was in management or a carrier forced to go help them. Casing or sorting packages while phone gossiping drives me nuts. You are at work for crying out loud.

With David Heather input then I know I'm down the tube either way. If anyone of them were for the carriers we wouldn't be wondering case or not which is the best way under rrecs? We are just damned if we do and damned if we don't, it's just gonna be what it's gonna be according to the postal service. With all the hundreds of millions of dollars they waste on machines why don't they have one that runs everything together and send all raw mail back to be run. There problem solved now they can pay us even less and give the people at the plant another raise.

i'm not as skilled as @neciat - all my DPS would end up on the floor. :ROFLMAO:

what i do is keep a tally on a sticky.

(and they can shove their 86. i'm over 55 and that pony is getting rid.)
The 86 is only “verification”, not actually handling the mail (casing or delivering).

I don't think they will ever be able to get all the packages thrown early enough, but I can do it either way, and have no idea why they are asking that question.
My thinking is to use it against the Carriers claiming ”too many” AUTHDismounts when they tubbed all mail for a “stop”.

That is good, I have seen many carriers who have physical ailments from many years of casing dps, along with more "stuff" to pull down !!!
Personally from prior construction and other factory work. I have had carpal tunnel and surgery to correct it on both hands. I find this job far easier on my hands and wrists then many jobs I have done in the past.

people really need to listen to the body and what it is saying. Then change how you handle items or how you do certain tasks. Don’t just pop pills and ignore it for another day. I still do my physical therapy stretches daily multiple times a day and my morning stretches before work. I also take a 5 min break half way thru each route to stretch out a bit.

I usually get so few flats I either take it all 2 the street (2 bundles, I guess) or I case the flats into the dps trays. 🤯
Today, we got food ads a day late. I cased them. I hate casing. Can't stand being in the office.

Or, if the standards say it is an 8.6 hour route and you work 6 hours................GREAT !! It is STILL considered an incentive based system. No, the system does not in any way reflect what it once was and standards have just eroded to the point of almost non existent and we all know the real reason for that but the evaluated system is an incentive system.
Agreed, but, how does one beat eval?...without running

Again,..this is a management issue 🙄..it's very frustrating 😑

You can't verify the dps unless you handle it. It doesn't magically get to your hands unless you reach for it and finger through the mail and deal with all the mail you have to bring back. This all takes alot more time than we get.
Plus, you don't get paid for casing Dps. Box time goes from 2 minutes too 1.2 and if you don't stop, ya don't get paid.

Last pay period I was 10 hrs under ea week. I'm sure my route will drop A LOT. I'm not a runner. That's how you beat eval. 🙄
