Bologna during end of shift is the new filet mignon.Disappointing
But my understanding was that previously the bundles referred to different categories not quantities. Like - UTF, ANK, VAC, you mark the top piece throw a rubber band around it and deposit said "bundle" into appropriate slot. Currently I am required to mark up each individual piece of political bologna for transparency and it all gets dumped into one bin. Sounds like bologna to me.
this right here I am trying to get it thru everyone’s thick skull at work. It’s like herding cats tho. Get one in line and 2 more stray back outThe unsavvy carrier will handle all markups at their case, in the morning, for free, while they case DPS, for free.
The savvy carrier will handle markups as paid actual time, during End of Shift Duties: dispose of undeliverable ordinary mail.
I asked this question of national and was given two different answers. How will markups be credited during the mini count? I have way more now than during the last real count. Hoping political markups = $
Then clear and take everything for a ride for the daySome mgmt wants Carrier cases clear when they leave for route so they allow the Carrier to add the disposal of Markups/3Ms to be handled WITHIN Loading Time.
Like @Dumbassclerksyndrome saidSome mgmt wants Carrier cases clear when they leave for route so they allow the Carrier to add the disposal of Markups/3Ms to be handled WITHIN Loading Time.
we all walk by that area so it’s easy to just pop over & do it. I don’t take anything “for a ride”. I’ve got enough to remember than to add “Then clear and take everything for a ride for the day![]()
Are there any rules in place that say that they aren't allowed to change the rules just for the mail, count? I dont do bundled endorsements, I always mark up individual mail pieces BECAUSE I will get all of that mail back over and over and over again.....sometimes 4 times. This goes on all theough the week and the RCA mindlessly stuffs my boxes full of undeliverable mail which I end up fishing it out of vacant boxes. It isnt really clear to me me how I am going to get paid for doing this. If, however, I mark up every individual piece, then I will only get 15-20 % of the pieces back. If I cannot meet the new evaluation, then this is one of the holes I am going to plug up and I'll do it through the grievance process. Not that I think the RCA does a bad job, because I dont....I think ours work their butts off, However, from my point of view, I don't think the USPS can hold me at an evaluation time where they pay me to perform "X" amount of finite tasks while not paying for all of them.Bologna during end of shift is the new filet mignon.

Just to reiterate what @Oi veh. said above, you have to retrain yourself to move these activities (mark ups, setting up and pulling down holds, sorting any mail you pulled from the DPS, etc.) to end of shift (EOS) where you will be paid actual time for doing them.It isnt really clear to me me how I am going to get paid for doing this.
In previous counts we were only paid by Bundle on most “Markups“. If you need to mark each one, do it during End Of Shift Duties to get credit. We will be getting VERY little credit for Markups in RRECS (3 Markups per 2000 pcs of volume). Are there any rules in place that say that they aren't allowed to change the rules just for the mail, count? As a sub, I find it very comforting to see a green VACANT card staring back at me from a vacant box. A few seconds of "thinking like a sub" can mean a lot to your sub(s). Now if my Reg. would just remove all the bins at the end the day and leave some gas in it....... that’s what most subs do. I let them know when I find too many mistakes. Block off Vacancies in CBUs so as to make it obvious. If it’s Curbside, tape the box shut or use a tiewrap if possible.
this as an rca I love the regs who do it. a little bit of your Time saves you a lot of time down the road Imo. Now if the sub is just tossing in regardless. Well you cant fix stupid. Mgmt only instructs delivery by address & that’s what most subs do. I let them know when I find too many mistakes. Block off Vacancies in CBUs so as to make it obvious. At least removing the bins can be put in your Loading Time.As a sub, I find it very comforting to see a green VACANT card staring back at me from a vacant box. Thats what I think too....well see how that flies.one acronym:

I could put mousetraps in my vacant CBUs and the boxes would still be stuffed full of mail.this as an rca I love the regs who do it. a little bit of your Time saves you a lot of time down the road Imo. Now if the sub is just tossing in regardless. Well you cant fix stupid.
