No Count

From the August 2021 newsletter...

“The USPS and the NRLCA have agreed to no further mail counts, with the exception of special counts under the old time standards.”

If they agreed earlier not to count then why the big announcement today that the deadline for notification of a count has passed?

Shirley the NRLCA can trust the USPS.

With the official word from the NRLCA now posted I guess the the USPS realizes that they would lose if we had a National Count. Now if the NRLCA would capitalize on this sentiment during the contract negotiation we would be sitting pretty for getting positive results.
my expectation is that they'll somehow find a way to give more back to the post office, even with this strength in their bag to negotiate. Just being realistic.

Good point.... if the "bump" is truly so large, why not prove it with a National all in count??? 🤷‍♂️

4 years of unpaid amazon. Say 50 packages extra a day. Post Office ridiculous standards say 30 seconds a parcel plus 18 seconds per scan. That's 40 minutes extra a day. 300 work days a year is 12000 minutes extra per year. That's 200 hours. At $25 an hour, it's $5000 a year. Four years is $20K.

I wish nothing but the worst for the union heads and the USPS.
50 xtra a day? We wish! How about 100-125 xtra a day, per route...smh

I agree...100%

Former Union President Jeanette Dwyer said there was no way she would ever want to go hourly.

What's she doing now? I heard she went back to her route and instantly got hurt and hasn't worked.

Anyone have the scoop?
She's off the route and is covering for (Johnny Miller) as an Executive Committeeman due to Johnny's serious illness. She was suppose to serve until the end of his term, which was to end at the National Convention in August 2021. With no convention I guess she continues until the position can be offered during an election!

Well I doubt anyone WISHES they were unpaid for 50 parcels a day. It could be less worse for some people....

Think about 100 a day extra, that's $10K a year using mail count math.
How is it that you didn't count in 2018? Did you opt out?

I'm thinking the route I have hasn't been counted for at least 7 years regular carrier who had it opted out of all counts he could. When was last mandatory count 2014?

All true and I believe they found her a position in the union if I am not mistaken, has she since retired or is still in that union position?

New NRLCA Monthly Mag for Sept. is now on line and I noticed that she has been promoted in her temporary position? What's with that? She hasn't even been voted into the position of replacing Johnny, due to no convention! Just another move by the good old boy network!

(Jeanette P. Dwyer, Chairman, Executive Committee).
Or, in this case.... the good ole GIRL network..... 🤷‍♂️

with RRECS we are getting the worst of salaried and the worst of hourly. If I'm salaried by Dept of Labor definition (taking liberty here) pay me for the job, don't break every portion down and time me -- like casing, loading parcels....you're making it an hourly job but paying me salary.
