i have 88 sick days racked up. How many can i take, and how often before any kind of discipline kicks in?

I foresee a doctors note in your future for stress, maybe even an FMLA case, and take as many as you'd like. Take the whole darn election season off. I'm doing that with my hip replacement surgery starting Sept 21 and out for 4-6 weeks.

you'll be out longer than before you are truly steady on your feet. expect at least 8-9 weeks and probably only come back for 3-4 day weeks at first.
