how long they want to be abused is the true test. we hired a guy probably 5 or 6 months ago, that was retired from the navy, retired from a manufacturing co. and was waiting for his wife to retire, and wanted something to kill time, until then. before working one day, he bought a late model rhd wrangler. he was sure this would be a great way to spend one or two days a week , for the next year and a half. we had two regulars retire, which moved a couple long time rca's up, and another rca quit. once another carrier went out, for a medical emergency, he found himself working 7 days a week.
after a few warnings to management, that went unnoticed, he said when the regular out on med leave came back, he wanted to take a week off. before that week was up, he had sold his jeep, and turned in his badge.
i don't blame him a bit. one of the last things he said, was i've played this game of working toward retirement, twice, and won. there's no reason to keep playing, after the fun is gone.
