Postal Pulse....Another good laugh..

Gallup, which administers the postal pulse, also did a survey of how the public views the different departments within the government....Once again....Who is the most trusted....The mailman and the mail lady and the clerks....74% of Americans rate the usps as excellent or good...Only 8% rated us poor... The public's perception of usps is us... They love us.............Now... to the postal pulse....It is intended to see how the front line people (mostly mail carriers, clerks and mailhandelers) view their role and their management within uspsland...Never has Gallup seen such terrible responses....Both in the lack of responses and the answers in the few they get...usps can spin numbers and try to put a good face on all they want.... But the truth is.....We do our jobs in spite of management, are appreciated by our customers and management can't deal with this...
So.... even when management added where you can input your feelings ( which is a ploy to crank up the number of responses)....Throw the damn postal posts in the recycle bin... Last year less people actually sent in responses than the year before... Let's double the number of no responses this year... Then see how management tries to explain it away...

It is my understanding that there is some kind of benefit for a PM to be able to show a greater number of employees responded - is this true?

Yes, you can give them bad marks across the board, but the fact that you responded counts in their favor.

Last year they sent me two, I took both home and trashed them. If they send me
four this year, I can double my rate of non-response!

Time to haul the paper shredder to the office. I won't be opening mine and if manglement comes around telling me it's anonymous (and why haven't I submitted the survey yet) I won't budge. Our PM is practically begging us to open those surveys and fill them out. Every day we get hit with how to respond to specific questions in the poll. I interrupted him during the speech today and asked if we were still supposed to be in charge of telling all the other employees "good job." Yes, was the answer so in front of everyone I asked if we get some of his bonus for doing that for management. Got a confused look reply.

All -- don't just toss the survey in a post office trash can. Manglement can fish it out and fill it in for you.

-- Take it home and dispose of the survey properly in a shredder.

-- Manglement has no problem taking money from you during count ( if one actually happens ) so here is your chance to reciprocate!

For Common Sense... The great fallacy of the pulse is that it is geared to eam a new one for first and second line management ( sup and PM).. And, yes, pulse responses are part of the matrix which generates their salaries...... I'd guess that many front line managers are in the same boat we are.. I feel for them....BUT...usps has to learn a lesson... They are paying big bucks for this childish playground survey. It may work in "normal" businesses but it is a joke where we are. USPS management is stuck in the middle ages... Serfs and royalty...So sefrs should thow the friggin surveys in the garbage at home... So, once again, usps will have a 1% response rate.. This response rate is off the charts for Gallop.. They have never seen a business where employees will not responded and, if they do, it is so negative... And usps response is ?????????

Postal pulse is a joke. Keep your 15min of pay to fill one out in office. The 15 of pay loss is more satisfactorily spent tearing it up in front of clown who hands it to you.

I will not do anything to justify or add to their pay. I have noticed something in the past month. 3 visits from HR in my office. They show up in AM and are still there after run. Not a peep or changes made. No step 2 or higher grievances pending from our MATRIX craft. Not sure about other crafts in offices.

I leave the one survey that they give me at the PO on my case the entire time. I like to bait my survey been doing this for the last 2 years. Just waiting to see if it is touched, then when I know the survey is over I throw it away and make sure it is on top of garbage can. Yes, I also get one sent to my house, might fill that one out this year.

Would you hear from anybody if you wrote a really blistering survey... I mean, like the lowest score on EVERY question, and tell them they're the devil's spawn in the comments box??? :devilish::unsure:
