Postal workers on strike

I don’t care what usps says they did over the last few years. The fact is nationwide there are not enough workers to do the job and their attempts to hire new workers have failed.
It’s okay RRECS is going to create so many new jobs for that overabundance of workers we have!

Oh wait…we don’t…and it won’t…

If you actually read the article, that was what ABC NEWS used for their title: “Salt Lake City postal workers strike”

Have a nice day
Are you ABC NEWS? Are you mandated to use their title? If you have more accurate information why would you use a false title?

Are you trolling me?
I’m not abc news, I’m just passing along their news article for rural carriers to read.
Maybe you should call ABC and correct them, we wouldn’t want misinformation on this site.

You’re the one who posted the misinformation on this site. ABC can post all the misinformation they want on ABC’s site. I see no reason to fill this forum with misinformation.

Go figure, rural carriers get slaughtered in a BLOODBATH called RRECS, and we're sucking it up as APWU goes on STRIKE!!!! 🤷‍♂️(n):poop:🔥

This should tell you something.
Was rrecs really a bloodbath or did it just right-size routes?
I know you’ll probably never see it my way but thought I’d put it out there anyway.

IMO, right-sizing of routes should have occurred in 2019, then again in 2022 (post C19) using legacy evaluation. Earnest RRECS scanner training afterwards, and the "mini survey" should have been the trigger in implementing RRECS with data collection for 6 month evaluation going forward.

By not having a route adjustment protocol in place already, I wonder if the high numbers of big gainers and losers came as a surprise to both USPS and union, especially the union.

imho, Totally irresponsible to implement a new system without a route adjustment process in place. An adjustment process should have been well-thought out in advance during all those years they were testing it and supposedly working out all the kinks.

I wonder how many adjustments for overburdened routes were put on hold due to the impending RRECS implementation, and now those routes are in limbo with no relief in sight. 🙁

Yep, for one they need to up the pay to get more people interested. Our starting out pay isn't keeping up.

I find this to be one of the most valuable threads I have seen in a long time. This seems to have it all.

I am arguing that one of the ways we fight the Postal Service is to really piss them off so that they over react to us. We are doing exactly that to RollinRural. So much that we don't see the strong points that the picket achieved. So pissing of the opponent does seem to work.

1. We have read about the picket taking place.

2. We have read that it had some supporters such as teachers who normally are not allowed to go on strike but have been doing so.

3. We have read that it was done by the APWU leadership which likely means they may be getting ready for more of this.

4. We have also seen that USPS will swear their inocense on a stack of bibles. Did any one expect that???

And furthermore, how do we sell the rca job to someone now with RRECS. For me I was able to look forward to working 5 days a week and a pay raise.

Now what do you tell someone 🤷

“When you convert from a rca you go from working 6 days a week, 10 or 12 hours a day and OT over 40 hours to now possibly working 11 or 12 days in a pay period and zero OT, and likely a substantial pay cut since you lost your OT. “

That dawg won’t hunt

Yeah, it's so straight, that's why it's constantly getting delayed and revised.... it's a funking mess, but "I know you’ll probably never see it my way but thought I’d put it out there anyway..." 🤷‍♂️(n):poop::oops:🔥

I don’t think we have a union 🤔. Maybe they’ve been on an extended four year vacation 🤷🏻‍♂️

Well according to my PM and another carrier who works a few towns over, her PM informed them that Saturday is the day. With Friday being Cinco de Mayo, they're (as in manglement and higher ups) already looking forward to taking the day off and having their fair share of margaritas to celebrate.
