POV getting Hot

Basically, yes I left the PM a letter that I wished her luck finding a replacement that would be as committed as I had been.
I guess that settles that then. You've resigned. The grievance procedure applies to employees.

Good luck in your future endeavors.

Gotta say this reads like most the offices around us and they wonder why rcas won’t stay. Nor will they volunteer to come to these offices to work.
RCA’s hired now earn sick & annual leave when hired, but I don’t see that keeping them with that “perk” because it all sounds good till you get in there & realize your earning but you never get to use it! Your having to back up whatever needs to be covered & you have to make sure it doesn’t interfere with a regular taking off. Regulars will always trump an RCA no matter who gets their requests in first! Experienced that first hand as well!

Also, I experienced burn out by going & helping other offices. They will tell you one thing to come & help, then when you get to the office your helping, they unload more than what they led on to needing help with!

I went with an EEO claim. Had mediation zoom call last week. No resolution, so I elected to move forward with formal complaint!
I could not work in such an environment any longer due to bullying & intimidation. I had to look out for my own mental health!

And Thanks! My endeavors are unfortunately limited nowadays but things fall out of place in order for others to fall into place, right???

If you didn’t want to resign there is still time for you to “un-resign” if you want to keep your job. Ask your pm if she has already sent in your resignation. If not you can come back to work. Take any discipline given and grieve it, you will win, due to not ignoring a direct order because only managers can give one NOT CLERKS.
For everyone else, II’s (Investigative interviews) are not discipline, they are for determining if discipline shall be given. Basically sit through them answering as little information as possible with yes/no answers without lying.
You weren’t allowed back into the office as if you were on emergency placement, also wrong, had you not taken sick leave you would have been back paid for time sent home.
If you have determined not to work for the Usps anymore, please ask for and fill out the resignation questioners form. It asks for reasons why you quit and can be used against your pm at a later time by other employees.
If you still want to work for the Usps, there are several offices nearby that would love to have you, into which you can transfer.

I can’t even get a copy of the i & i that was done. So if it’s the PM I have to request the resignation form from, I don’t see that happening!

I really didn’t want to resign but with all the manipulations & deceiving treatment I felt was being dealt. I couldn’t go back to work in that! It’s quite depleting of one’s self worth. Only one carrier in the office out of us 3 carriers. 2 regulars & myself a RCA, the one regular pretty much minded her own business but the whole situation has been discussed amongst all who have worked there.

Only the Union can request a copy of the I.I. which is typically after a Grievance is filed.
Prior I. I. I had which I had submitted I had copy of so I guess I assumed (which should never be done anyways) I would receive a copy of this one as well! Always something to learn that’s for sure!

Them telling you that a clerk shares the capacity of a PM, supervisor, or even a PMR sounds like a chart topper to me.

1) No such dual position exists.
2) No employee in a craft capacity is subordinate to another employee in a craft capacity.
3) No form 50 will support this "clerk is a management employee" notion. The closest concept is a 204-B, but that isn't a "once the boss leaves" conversion-type situation.
4) No clerk capacity employee is paid under EAS.

The clerk is basically there to clear accountables and lock the door at the end of the day once everyone leaves to go home.

Each of the questions I wrote in response 5 were to detect violations.

I hope your situation is resolved shortly, however you choose to handle it.

Yikes! I hope you've spoke with your rep since then.

A text aboutna reflection day? Oh my laud, we've got a live one!

A "day of reflection" follows receiving discipline, and not just any discipline, a 14 -day suspension! Additionally, it must first be agreed upon by the union!

You haven't even had a PDI?!

Oh I bet that would be interesting.

The manager was ragging on you for this too to the point that you quit?! Oh my goodness. This manager is off the chain!

I'm confused. Did you resign or no?
Yes I quit! I refuse to work under such conditions of treatment! Another RCA was also employed there but did not have the same requirements that were put on me. The only time she was required to carry a full route was on Saturdays. If she was called in during the week IF she answered or responded to calls. She wouldn’t get to PO till late & would only be able to carry 1/2 of a route & I was required to carry the other half. She was never required to carry 2 routes as I was & she never received a reflection day or I & I for having vehicle issues!

Yes. There is a lot of wrong going on in that office. I hope the steward assigned to that office really hoses it down. More than just the roof is on fire!

lguseby -- [ POV break down / bossy clerk / unreasonable manglement ]

-- Probably a good thing you quit as there are so many possible grievances it would take a long time to get them processed, let alone settled.

-- In any case, you should write the Postmaster General a nice l-o-n-g, highly detailed letter of your ( unfortunate ) experience.

-- Though no where in print, manglement expects POV carriers to have a back up vehicle or rent one or have someone ( approved by manglement, of course ) to drive you around should your vehicle break down.

-- You should have asked the bossy clerk for a satchel so you could finish the route. No satchel available? That would be another grievance to go along with disparate treatment, hostile work environment, threatening behavior and a host of others that violate USPS policies.

-- Not that it matters now, but there is Section 12.e of the PO-603 - in part:

- Providing and maintaining A vehicle. ( IMHO "A" usually refers to a singular object )

-- TaDa -- Unreasonable manglement loses another valued employee.

-- IF there are other post offices in your area, you could approach them for employment. Just be up front with the circumstances why you quit.

-- BTW, a day of reflection does not apply to RCAs ( another grievance! )

-- Good luck.

RCAs only earn AL NOT SICK, UNLESS ON aux route then they earn both.
