Quantity dps

what would be my "issue" complaint on my grievance? management fail to input correct numbers for Quantity review?

Magnolia have you been thru a mail count? It's sorta like the same thing. You count everything. I made a spread sheet since my PM was also doing it wrong. If you need help PM me on here.

Yes, we just went through the "special" count and I lost big time. I saw the picture of your spreadsheet and I made a screenshot of it this morning. That's what made me ask my PM all the questions about counting the mail that I brought back. I saw you were writing that down and I knew something couldn't be right about what he was telling me. Thanks for posting your spreadsheet!!

I believe many managers are instructed to convince the carrier a DPS review is of no value so that carrier will not have it. They also will tell you to count in correctly so that you cannot fail a DPS review. All these are ploys to not have to pay the extra 3 + hours/week that a failed review will cost the Postal Service. Don't give up, grieve any incorrectly counted 3-m (mis-sent, mis-sequenced, mis-sorted) mail that comes out of your DPS.
The reason it is counted as raw is because it can't be placed in the box you are in font of on the route (not streetable) , but must come back to the office and be re-sorted thetefore it is RAW.

I plan on filing a grievance for improperly counting. I’m just wondering if it will get pushed to step two, three or four.. my union Stewart isn’t very educated sometimes I find the contract provisions for her.. also my postmaster is a narcissist and he never admits that he is wrong.

We must work for the same man or they’re taught that in some training class!! LOL

Be calm in the storm.....stand your ground again calmly. Mangelment incompetence will cause them to get scared and angry because of being lost and not found. Do not allow for them to say that you are being insubordinate and try to harass you for standing solid per contractual rights. It will be them that will be insubordinate and staying calm will
Pay $$$$$$ off. Good luck to you. We’re all behind you. In fact, here’s a idea......perhaps the entire craft, all offices, everyone.....request a quantity review. Just saying......these assclowns don’t have a clue. Remember, we are strong together, united.....a union of peeps.........it’s time to turn the tables. You can’t strike but you can request and file and win.
Become more informed, more than them..........be strong for they are weak minded. ✌️??????

Today was day 3 of my review and my PM is only keeping up with the end of run and raw numbers. I am keeping up with everything else. He told me yesterday to keep track of things until he FINDS OUT EXACTLY WHAT HE SHOULD GETTING INFO ON! Oh, I am keeping track of everything and he's out of his mind if he thinks we're going to "share notes". I haven't said anything else to him about what is supposed to be counted since the first day, so it's on him.

One thing I have noticed in the past two days is the weak amount of raw mail that I've received. Today I had 8 pieces and yesterday was maybe 15. I'm working my K day Monday and hopefully the raw will be back to normal. One can only hope!

-- If you don't like the results of the DPS Review, you can always file a grievance that the PM didn't know what he was doing or how to conduct a DPS Review.

After talking to the ADR on Thursday, I don't think she knows anything about it either. But I will still file.

File a grievance now requesting acknowledgement that your DPS review has failed due to NOT being counted properly due to your manager and his support group not knowing how to count and compare the review stats to your last count. It should be apples to apples not comparing it to something else, as is being done. (He's not counting the same as last count)
Ask what/when/how management will fix it and remind them about how the 30 day clock is ticking.

I decided to let this keep going. My last day of the review is Wednesday. After giving it a lot of thought, why should I give the PM an out? If the clock is ticking and there's only 30 days to get the review done, I don't see any need in helping him with this process.

This afternoon, I am going to tally up my numbers to see where I stand in the review. So do I add each piece as individual except for the inverted pieces which is 4/1 and they are ALL considered RAW? I mean the markups, UTF, FWD, NSN, UBBM, etc..

You can use the speed sheet categories that @Jess posted above as a guide. (When I was reviewed I was told the 3rd "m" of the 3's (out of town) didn't count. I noticed it wasn't on the spread sheet, either.)
I think you've got it. Enjoy the extra pay!!!

ALL of the 3M mail FROM DPS does indeed count as raw mail. Only on an FSS review does the mis sent NOT count when you are doing a QUALITY review. Looking at your count DPS percentage to raw and your current percentage, seems as though you will be just fine. When you you look at it as 91.7 down to 89.8 it does not look or even sound like that much. BUT, it is actually huge. Think about it.................that is almost a whole 2% difference. What I mean is this, you are now receiving almost 2 whole percent MORE DPS to raw percentage than your last count. That's 2% of the TOTAL for the 12 days. That's a lot of mail.

I was comparing the numbers from mail count to what I have now, I still have 3 days left in this review and I am almost double in DPS than what I received during count. It's ridiculous!

But I can't find the page with the exact instructions to give to the PM. I have gone on the NRLCA website and it only shows the same 9 pages I found here. It gives instructions for a quality review but nothing for a quantity review. Since PM loves playing dumb, I have to show something in print on what is counted. It's stressful doing someone else's job.
