retreat rights.

How can you find out if a former carrier has retreat rights. My aux route has a chance of adding alot of boxes and I need to find out if I'm gonna get bumped off of it. Thanks.

More info is needed to say for sure what your situation is. Normally a carrier that has been forced to go to another office has retreat rights to their original office if vacancy occurs.

Sorry for the late reply. Anyway, The regular that used to be on this route got excessed about 3 years ago. This route used to be a regular route until they made it 35 hours to be a regular route. All I know is that he supposedly put a note on the case when he left saying that he requests retreat rights. I'm really curious to see if he only did that or if he actually went the proper route to gain the retreat rights.

I don't think this is something that you would have access to, the carrier would have done it in liteblue and only that carrier and HR would have access to that information.

EDIT:

"How do I request retreat rights? City letter carrier craft employees (full time, part-time regular, or part-time flexible) who are involuntarily reassigned may submit a written request at the time of reassignment to be returned to the first residual vacancy in the level and craft in the installation from which reassigned. Clerk craft employees may submit a request to retreat to initial vacancies in their former pay level and to residual vacancies in higher/lower pay levels. However, the preferred method of accepting retreat rights is to use eJob Bidding in the Employee Apps - Quick Links on LiteBlue (https://liteblue.usps.gov). "

... To me that sounds like the note on the case also is a proper request
