Route cutting is ridiculous and stupid

When you have a 3.00 volume factor territory donated to a 1.90 volume factor route, how does the system merge the volume factors?

I am thinking of all of this as a reset (for lack of a better word) A salary is calculated but our task in the interim is to build the next future rrecs evaluation with whatever territory we get. There are zero guarantees.
Exciting and scarey at the same time.

You would have the info for the RT 1.90 volume factor plugged in first. Say RT#2

Then you would add the next line in Box Adjustments. Say RT#1.

Plus you would have to adjust mileage, parcel lockers, Dismounts, Ect... from RT#1. Basically adding what section you took values from Rt#1 and adding them to the RT#2 Values. (With RRECS it would include stops, load times, ect..)

As you can see to the right of the 3.00 volume boxes. The white cell holds the value of those boxes.

Once again Remember this is an old worksheet. The new one is different with different calculations. But works in the same manor. So this is nowhere accurate, it is just used to explain how the system works in general, and how it could have been done better.
I wish each address had a value and it could migrate the info over. It would have made it easier and more accurate. But PO doesn't do that.

Volume factor and other inputs from 3.0 volume factors route gets converted to standard hours . That added to 1.9 volume factor causes a new volume factor for the receiver route after the addition

Thank you so much for explaining all this with examples 🎉❤️

If it were done the way you describe, then there would be no waiting period for the data to catch up to the territory. Pay would be immediate for the new adjustment because it would literally reflect the past 52 weeks of territory AND volume between the donated and receiving routes. Am I right in thinking that we can't do anything about this (grievance/labor charge) because our union and usps agreed to "tweek the system" and get it to work as best they could the way it is?
I also remember seeing on here somewhere that the usps will never pay to make it work as it should. Might the alternative to this be worse than what this is. 🤷‍♀️

Yeah, they agreed to this. So nothing we can do really. Maybe down the road it will get fixed.

I don't see RRECS staying the way it is. And if DOGE does come in, it could really change.

How? What's your thoughts on this?
The usps already has data for different segments of routes, again, they just don't want to use them. They don't want to pay for the storage of data for every address in the country (or we could migrate each address to every adjusted route), but they already do store the segment data for most routes, but just don't use it.

Exactly that's my issue with these cuts in my area.

All of us carriers know that one is probably close to 3 hours. Other one is closer to 7-8 hours but they claim they are same with computer. It doesn't take an expert to figure out they have the data and can do it but instead we just cut blinded and wish carrier the best. 100% should be labor charge.

As I said she will take 6k cut off back and then possibly another 6k cut once route is un frozen which unless my timing is off for that route big time.

They use it for delivery estimation time but, refuse to allow compensation be tied to it. And because USPS has such cr@p software systems, none of them really interface with each other.
Informed visibility program was to capture plant and transfer volumes. But, it is basically no better than the DOIS system since it is subject to volume error manipulation. With the electric shipper lists now being uploaded instead of verified by dock personnel, the volumes have gotten very suspect. The shippers fudge on the pallet numbers, the plant people can fudge on the numbers( entering broken pallets) and the newer sorting machines are not being utilized as headquarters wanted to avoid true run numbers. The mgrs keep saying they are down and not operational about 50% of the time. I interviewed clerks who said, they weren't down - mgrs were refused to use them to protect plant budgets. And the clerks were ok with that.

It's tough to get factual numbers when every part of the organization is out to manipulate for themselves.

They can only cut from data provided. If you suspect the data is wonky, start checking the obvious numbers.

Ok, Stingrayiii pretty much showed all of you the gist of it. The interim worksheets I worked off of look similar but MORE values to plug in from 4241A and M. Also ties in with DPM/LTM that’s where they get TCP points. I was an RCA for more than a dozen years so I knew all the routes inside and out, which is why I was the perfect storm to do the adjustments and am also the DPM/LTM facilitator. I also know how to resequence the edibooks.

These adjustments are what they are and stingrayiii you are right unless somebody’s done an adjustment it’s really hard to explain to them the amount of work involved. The interim worksheets are just a small portion of the process. Once approved, they actually have to resequence all these routes. They do that by combining all editbooks into one BIG edit book called a continuous line editsheet, and you resequence things from there. I did that on my own as well as everything else, including figuring equipment usage for routes.

I wish everyone the best if you are having your office adjusted (it’s by zip codes fyi, so not every zip code in an office get adjusted) Hopefully it all turns out alright in the end.

Those were the famous last words right before......"rrec's".....occured....and postal mgmt stole millions, and millions of dollars from HARDWORKING AMERICANS
who totally deserved better.....postal mgmt....on the whole, some of the laziest, worthless, and most evil people I ever dealt with in my life....not all, but pretty close. 😐😐😐🤠

Yeah, the worksheets you used are the newer ones. The ones I showed here are Pre RRECS. And your right there is so much work that has to be done that we didn't talk about. And everything has to be correct, one wrong error and it blows up in your face.

Update again to story.

Now all of a sudden change of heart.

81 boxes was way too many.. now 30 boxes being taken off. Lot more reasonable and probably losing about 3 hours now because she will have 4-5 miles of no boxes.

So now routes are losing the following.

52 boxes with 9 multiple boxes together and losing about 1 mile.

30 boxes with 5 multiple boxes together and losing 1 mile plus gaining about 4-5 miles of no boxes (higher speed matrix)

Another part to the story from last night.

Woman from office who isn't being cut went to union meeting and asked her about the cut.

Union rep said why is any of your business and why are you so worried about it??? JUST ANOTHER REASON PEOPLE HATE OUR UNION RIGHT THERE.

I seriously can't stand union people that don't get why people want to know there. It's a !#$^ING LEGIT QUESTION! Yes you can't control the future, but the cuts you can keep eyes on to see what will happen and that is the case here. Other people noticed that these cuts were going to be way too many and possibly push the Aux route to full route

Why she want to know and why is it her business??? Because what if they went through with these cuts as previous and that 1 aux route they have went full time??? There would be no where to pull off once Amazon stop delivering there or even if there lose a big thing on their route. All those routes go down to H/J easily.

Don't get me started with the Union. Blahh........ Worthless.........

Ooohhh nooo... please do go on....🤣😂🤠 I bet my union rep is more worthless than yours.....and I'll GUARANTEE you the union let me down more than they did you....LOL!!🤣😂😆🤠 It, in a strange way, always makes me feel better knowing the union FAILED miserably in others people cases, just like they did in mine. It just confirms that the union for me, TRUELY IS WORTHLESS, AND DESERVING OF EVERY DEROGATORY TERM, OR EPITHET YOU CAN GIVE THEM.....🤣😂😆🤠

They could actually figure out a volume factor for each address, based on informed delivery and packages. What I think is crazy is that they rob us with coverage percentage, but coverage percentage isn't a factor in cutting. The average central box coverage percentage in my office is 60%. So we're only getting paid for 60% of our central boxes. If you where an aux route that let's day gained 100 boxes to become a regular j route, 52 weeks later you'd drop because the cov % isn't 100 boxes.
I'm pretty sure no-one has 100% cov factor. So if you lost 100 central boxes to make you a 43k did you really just loose 60?
I guess we'll find out.

I think they plug the coverage factor in during cutting . No ?
