Sabotaging the food drive

Local management not allowing rural routes to participate in local food drive. Level 20 office. Rural routes are 38% of the routes in office. Local management sent food drive cards to neighboring office so rural routes could not participate.

While actually picking up food is voluntary , the delivering of the cards is not. Those cards are mail bearing postage. Not necessarily in any order of importance but there are some issues with the action of your management. There is the willful and wanton action of delaying the mail. Also, the rural carriers would have entered those cards into the scanner as a boxholder , thus, affecting the coverage factor for that day. Then, there is the issue of carriers coming upon donations on Saturday ( customers aware of food drive even when no card was received ) and the carriers not knowing what to do. Even if a carrier would have volunteered to participate in picking up food, management has already said "no" . Does the carrier(s) leave the food or pick it up ? Make your appropriate union representative aware of what has occurred.

We have not even received the cards in some time, its usually just the city side here. An what few rural routes get the cards, it's not even enough to cover half their route as it is. An I know manglement isn't going to come out here to the sticks to pick up tubs of food, theyll just tell us to send it to the plant. (Which probably gets stolen anyways.) It's a shame

I wonder if someone filed charges against the union for allowing Rural Carriers to work without pay on the food drive.

Call the nearest big city tv stations and scoop them about & see if they'll put it on the air.

We had cards this year and I was amazed. We haven’t had them in over five years probably closer ten.

We get cards and bags. The bags are hideous but people use them.

That would be nice. I think if people do it they should get carrier pickup in the RRECS menu for it. Each item counts as a separate parcel right?

Scan the UPC code on each of them or Trip to the Door every time you have to get out to pick up a bag.
