I am a 5-1 aux carrier on a 6 hr route M-F. Saturday, I work a 8.8 hour route on Saturday and for the past 10 weeks, I have been scheduled to split the 6 hr route, resulting in missing dispatch and last Saturday missing the APO dispatch.
In particular, there is one Aux carrier in the APO who has 6-0 hold down on an aux route that they are normally done on by 1030 in the morning, 6 days a week.
The RCA's are never forced to come to my office to help out, so while all the Saturday RCA's in that office have a 4-6 hour day, I and the other sub in my office get slammed with a 10-11 hour day or more EVERY Saturday.
HOW is this remotely fair?
I am very confused why this is happening, nevertheless my POV is getting slammed with stopping at more than 800 boxes each Saturday.
Additionally, APO is LLV, my office is POV.
I attempted to to talk to the steward who said, "we cannot force this small aux carrier to split, but only assist, and they refuse"...NOW that does not make sense. I'm an aux carrier, why can I not refuse?
If it has anything to do with being 5-1 WHEN do I have the option to say, "nevermind, I want to go 6-0 on the aux route I'm on?"
Since when do RCA's have the right to refuse anything? It seems I havent been made aware of that and am being worked to death. lol.
