You guys hear about the new Amazon rules starting Easter Sunday?

They put up a silly signup sheet here for "volunteers" for city and rural regs to help out on Sundays. Since we all pretty much get mandated our days off, do they really think we want to work 7 days a week. Our manglement is so out of touch.
Your mgmt is FREAKING STUPID....let them run the route themselves...
🤣😂🤣😂🤠

Ibpd16 -- "I just accepted pse clerk in my office and will resign my ARC position. However I also applied for Animal Control Officer with the city and for Park Ranger at one of the state parks. I get offered either of those 2 I’m out."

-- Since you've done about everything in the office, if offered a post master position, would you take it?!?

-- An Animal Control Officer position might land you in a post office!
We actually had a racoon and babies in our PO for 8 days. They would come out at nite and leave footprints all over the counters. Some carriers were surprised when they went to the restroom and saw them drinking from the toilet in the morning and they would climb the wall and go up into the ceiling. Everyone was afraid to go the bathroom. Animal control had to come out and set traps. Finally caught them..

And this is a classic example of incrementalism, foot in the door, testing the waters , etc. Getting this to work even HALF WAY on "innocent Amazon Sunday" will be used against the craft as a whole. Even variations thereof will be used.
Crap. I bet you are correct. I never even considered the analytics collected from the "houry" workforce delivering only pkgs on a Sunday or day after a holiday. Those subs are still flying. Maybe I don't want to request a rt cut just yet.
Lord I am getting too old for this job.

Hmmmm, 18 to 22 pkgs per hr, that's
144 to 176 pkgs delivered while being given an 8 hr street time.
I assume the 15 mins office time is organizing small parcels in trays.
I wonder how much undertime they will have.

I know with absolute certainty there are aready some crazy fast analytics out there from all us Amazombies delivering tremendous amnts of parcels preRrecs. Especially during peak.

The question is, what is a safe, sustainable and reasonable working pace?
Very interesting.

Will ask one of our ARCs Sunday about this. They love to call me about dogs customers etc every Sunday about time I return the favor 😂.

Edit: our start time Sunday holiday has always been 8 am. Doubt it changed most likely a area difference.
10am mid Atlantic

The Usps is finally realizing that they make no $ on Sundays from Amazon. We figured that out 7 years ago, it didn’t even cover the gas cost to run the Llv’s. So what’s the Usps going to do? Try to squeeze blood out of the Arcs and RCAs to cover their losses. I can hear them saying,”Tell them to go faster and give them ridiculously low time requirements to meet. They’ll go faster and some may even meet the new requirements, or die trying.”
Anytime a rural carrier is given a time requirement, all they should say is, “I’m working as fast as I can in a safe manner, do you want me to work faster?” If they say yes, file a grievance for requiring you to work in an “Unsafe” manner.

Th

They already asked me a couple years ago to be a supervisor. And recently they asked me to be a 204b. My response both times was he’ll no
When I sent in my retirement papers last year they tried to get me to transfer into management. They also tried to get me to postpone my retirement because we were so short staffed. I told them that after working 40 years for this sh-t show that I was done and they couldn’t afford me.

EXCELLENT COMMENT, and right to the heart of the matter as usual. Rt2mailman, you got it figured out my friend...well said!

LOL, there have been many Sundays where I’m DONE at 10:15-10:30 AM. I’m so glad I made regular last month, but this micromanagement and these out of touch demands are never going to stop until we are all basically city carriers. I haven’t heard about this affecting my area but I know stupidvisors would be just as upset as subs, I don’t think anyone wants to work Sunday, let alone ALL DAY Sunday. I’m convinced they really do try to think of the most pointless and inconvenient thing, and then implement just for fun at this point. There is nothing good that will come of this and as much as I sped to go home early I would purposefully take 12 hours every time until it stopped.
I agree totally!🤮
