Where to go from here

  1. Is what the NRLCA expects and why clearly outlined?
  2. Is it possible this is leading up to a “DMCA take down notice?”
  3. If the site is taken down is there a place we may reassemble?
  4. Is this a time to push politically for better access to the rules we are working under?

The "leaders" of the NRLCA have always felt threatened by a knowledgeable rural craft. I am from Stutt's home state and the meetings that I attended through the years when he was our state steward were far from pleasant. He was rude and condescending toward anyone who dared ask a hard question or question the decisions made by union leadership. I always felt that our union leaders and their sycophant followers only wanted people to attend meetings to act as cheerleaders for them. I served as a local steward for many years and the lady who was our state steward after Stutts left for National (this was all before DR's and ADR's) was so nasty with people who would question her. It's like that once they become higher officials in the union, they get on a power trip. They think if we get any information, it should come from them. I've been ridiculed and laughed at for mentioning how great and informative I thought this site was. They are so ignorant that they do not realize that the more informed we are, the easier the union's job will be and we will all be better off as a craft. I am so glad I am retired now! I am still in the union, but only because I still have the Rural Carrier's Insurance, and that will change in the next open season.

I'm thinking if they went to the trouble of sending the PT a certified letter from a lawyer.... they're likely reading this thread..... js.... anybody have a message they like to have the NRLCA read?????‍♂️????
I try not to use that kind of language.
Does the NRLCA care about what their membership wants???? Do they want to "emgage" with the membership???? Are "WE" REALLY the " union"????

Should we conduct a poll here to see what the "membership" thinks of restricting or shutting down this very helpful and informative site?????‍♂️?
I have written numerous Carr's and letters to the NRLCA.

As a dues-paying member, I was astounded to receive not one reply.
(Don't they know how the mail works? They don't seem to know how a union works! Perhaps they didn't like us discussing union funds they spent on roombas and luxury matress sets. That probably pushed them over the edge.)
I think you might have hit the nail on the head with that one....

Especially if they are viewing access to information as a sales tool for their dues collection.... sure they don't want information made available to non- dues paying members..... I really think that's what this is really all about.... js.... should probably be the focus of a NRLB failure to represent complaint.... ??
I think they don't appreciate their corruption, ineptness and failure to work for our craft's best interests pointed out, and discussed.
The emperor has no clothes.
I suspect that this may be less about dated information, but what will be included in the future...the official RRECS policy/procedures ...to make NRLCA the definintive one stop site for all your pay evaluation system needs. Petty way to feel empowered and relevant.
That hadn't occurred to me.
I've been doing a slow boil because they aren't warning the craft about current data collection, or providing us any way to check data compiled.
We're just going to see our pay change. Surprise!

I will be going back to post #114, as I have a letter to write.

3. Discord. We can create a chat room. Reddit, start our own rural carrier page and also troll the NRLCA.

The knowledge base can hide behind a generic password protection and end user agreement check box.

My rep doesn’t have time for me any time I’ve had a question, and acts like I am annoying. I have got way more value from this website than I have my rep, that is for sure.
By all rights, in a fair and just world, we'd all be sending the PT $800 bucks a year, instead of to the useless NRLCA.... maybe that's what they're afraid of.... ?‍♂️?

I don't know him personally, but just based upon descriptions by others, he sounds like a real pompous @$$hole.... I figure his pumped up, over-inflated ego has something to do with this nonsense.. ??

Well I have paid dues for the first 20 of my 35 years with the PO. I quit after our local mail count was cancelled the day before it was to start "due to inclimate weather", there was a snowstorm the day that which would have delayed the mail that they were trying to dump on us before the count started. This was done with the full consent of the state steward and well after the date the count was to be "set in stone". While I strongly support union representation I can tell you that this union has let their membership down time after time. Back when I first started there was an attempt by the city carriers union to take over the NRLCA. A vote was held and the NRLCA won but it was a hard fought battle. Of course back then almost every rural carrier was easily beating their evals. I wonder what would happen if that vote were held today!

Same here. I support the theory of a union to protect workers. I have come to question whom our union really supports when the last year of mou's have all favored the usps. I u derstand usps is desperate for bodies to carry mail. But, I'm not seeing any benefit to carriers for working well beyond evaluation, as well as, including other routes and relief days. We are old, tired and we hurt. Get some young bodies. If they made a deal to sell our labor participation beyond evaluation...why haven't we heard what spectacular new benefits we can look forward to?

It really does take a LOT of delusional imagination for them to say this site does more harm then good.... smh.... ?‍♂️
They are a delusional bunch. I attended a zoom meeting not to long ago and Jeanette D was one speaker. She seems to have forgotten that it was on her watch that we saw Amazon come in and utterly destroy the craft. Then she assured us that after carrying her route, she now understands. Okay, but she still is all bark no bite. All them people are. Bark in front of the members. Pull down their pants and bend over for management. She also said you can forget about negotiations and elections.

Jeanette can say she understands, but some of us have been doing this body-destroying extra free work ..for years.

Many have qiut, or retired with a reduced compensation, to escape the working conditions......doing the equivalent of a rural route and a UPS route daily, without extra compensation or even their contractual days off.

Was Jeanette the recipient of management's verbal abuse because she wasn't doing the free work quickly enough? Does she now have permanent physical problems as a result of the extra FREE work?

Thanks for giving us some union news.
You can write national with specific questions, they still won't tell you anything.
