What should I do?

I'm told that every office around my area needs RCA's - but when I go look at usps.com/careers they are never listed. - Should I just go down in person and talk to the Postmaster?
yes, and if you don't resign, you can ask for a transfer after a couple of months.. you can't apply because the stupid post office never posts the openings... again talk to a rural carrier you admire or trust and they can help you...

Fight for your job or reapply if you choose. USPS rehires anyone and everyone they can anyway. Some offices are better. If you remain employed you may find another office you like better that has a vacancy and submit a letter requesting reassignment to that other office as I have done in the past. I am surprised you would get a letter of separation from even the worst supervisor as most districts have been requiring prior approval from the poom so I'm guessing nothing about this scenario is aboveboard. If you grieve, the DR and yourself should be requesting the removal of that manager

Excellent, and I mean EXCELLENT comment jaymcg3three....as always, you hit that nail right on the head!!

I'm threatened by both him and the postmaster with being removed from my job or I can resign because I'm on probation.
Did you sign anything since this threat was made? Have you been asked to turn in your badge?

You mentioned orientation and driver training but not academy. Are you an RCA or an ARC?

I feel bad that you were hired just in time for the Christmas delivery season, then just thrown into service with so little training. You are seeing the job (and management) at it's worst. Kudos to you for standing up for yourself under unsafe conditions. Most new hires won't rock the boat during probation.

Blamethesub has brought up a VERY IMPORTANT POINT here. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES DO YOU SIGN ANYTHING that has to do with DISCIPLINE, or INVESTIGATIVE INTERVIEWS, PDI's. If they give you a direct order to sign it, do so, but right by it write, "I was given a direct order to sign this against my will", MAKE SURE YOU GET A COPY OF THAT. I dont even sign training stuff, because they use that against you as well....by signing stuff like this, you literally can sign your job away. Also, do not RESIGN, especially in a situation like this....they are playing fast, and loose with you, and I'd bet a paycheck they dont have their ducks lined up in a row on this....Watch your back.

I'm an RCA and have not been told when I'm going to the academy.

- I am retired already from a STRONG Union job > nothing phases me really anymore.
- Yes - Not signing anything unless given a direct order to do so - sign with typical "under directs order signing against my will" > get a copy.
- I have only done Service type jobs my entire life. I signed on with the Post Office to be of service to the community.

Good clue.

Kludain, If you invested in a POV at the time of hire, unfortunately, you signaled to management that you are committed to the job moreso than most. They piled work on you with little training, and are giving you empty threats to see how far you can be pushed. It takes fortitude to stand up for yourself amongst these thieves and liars.
I loved my job, but it took me nearly a year to understand how deep and ugly things run at USPS.
It's a snake pit.... 🤷‍♂️👉🐍(n):poop:

You sound like you've got what it takes to stand up to the bullying. And you've got what it takes to make a good carrier.
If you choose to continue the fight I wish you luck. But would strongly advise that you do try to move to another office if you can - the disgusting mfers you currently work for don't deserve you.

Great advice. We always need to reinforce that nobody should sign off on anything if they feel uncomfortable or are clearly being targeted repeatedly by management. You can always question them directly asking, "are you threatening my employment"? Or simply state "I have no legal obligation to sign a document under duress." Their reaction will confirm whether or not you need to watch your back.

whoa.

you are not supposed to be working until you have been to academy.

so...how did that happen?

the timeline is supposed to be do all your background stuff, shadow, orientation, academy, work.

make sure the DR knows that you have not been to academy.

screw these a-holes to the wall.
then transfer.

My sub had been working for over a YEAR, before being sent to academy. Standard procedure in my office to not send them until they think they are gonna stay...
😡😡😡🤠

I understand what your saying, but I disagree “not signing”…..
sign anything and everything they put under your nose. This puts the paper trail under THEIR feet. Not ours. If you so choose , sign it “under duress” but sign it, date it, hand write the time you signed, and for better measures ask for a clerks round date stamp on top of your signature, date and time.
Refusal of signing, only places benifit of doubt in managements hands. They now have ammo against you “never signing” anything. They can say “look, here’s an issue they refused to sign”, show a piece of paper you have absolutely no clue about, but your past refusals, laid ground to your future refusals to sign, even tho they was never brought to your attention. Sign anything, sign everything they put in front of you. Sign it, date it, time stamp it, ask for a round date stamp……. Even tho you don’t agree to what your signing (if firmly believe ing it’s wrong write “under duress” ) just sign it. Place that paper trail in your benifit. Don’t allow management the potential to say “see, they always refuse to sign. They even refused this one (even when you was never shown it)……. Sign, sign, sign! Put the paper trail in your benifit! Don’t leave the paper trail in managements benifit! Sign it! I don’t care if you put “under duress” in there, sign it! Date it! Time stamp it, get clerk round date on it! That leaves nothing for management to “falsify”! Sign it!

I was thinking the same thing. I have notified my DR and I'm waiting on a response for whatever is next now.
