Taking high option as 48k?

fable

Well-known member
Someone came back after eval as 48k (despite losing Amazon and routes being cut). Just found out they took high option? You can land that high as high option?

Idk
Even supervisor says he doesnt understand it which bothers me. He has been there well over 10 years. He said he didn't know he could do it either but he said it was possible and now he is getting it. Frustrating

Information provided is not right . No evaluation lands you in 48k with high option . High option evaluation makes you a J or H route . And that is also capped at 46
Thats what I thought but here we are. I questioned the mess out of yesterday too. Management says it is what it is he doesnt understand it but thats whats happening

Don't believe everything you hear. Our pay and evaluations are all computerized. There is no way this is true..

No . What I am saying is his evaluation might come out as 48k . That’s a different thing . High option has nothing to do with it . You need to see his/her 4241 to find out the standard hrs ( not the evaluation hrs ) to make any sense out of it . Someone is not telling the truth somewhere

I think this has more to do with the leave commitment than any "option". When that high option box gets that check mark for whatever reason(s) , management insists on that leave commitment being signed even when the carrier has no option either by not having enough career time in or by the route falling into the standard hours upon which there is no election. At the end of it all, what management has is the carrier's signature agreeing to use enough annual leave to not exceed 2080.

i always x out that yes, check no, write route not eligible for high option in the signature block and round date it.

it's a crying shame that a lot of carriers are uneducated (meaning they don't research for themselves), intimidated by management or both.
