Mail surveys

Out of order all over. Nearly 500 random letters total. Almost 200+ from dps out of order. 1 house then skip 3 them back to 1st skip 2 back to house before the 1st one.

That's just inexcusable at ANY time let alone a day after a Monday Holiday. Keep an eye on your mis-sort and mis-sequenced mail between AFTER the MMS and when the new evaluations take effect in October. You know, there is a QUALITY DPS Review as well. Not to be confused with QUANTITY. If a 98% threshold is not met for 3 consecutive days within a 30 day period, the route is taken off DPS standard and would revert to raw and MUST be requalified for DPS. And here's the deal with that 3 day thing. If the PO meets 98% or better for TWO consecutive days but DOES NOT on the third day, the 3 consecutive day thing starts over but the 30 day clock keeps running. Think about it...................going from 86.7 ppm to 15.5 ppm !!! Now, keep in mind that should you prevail, it may take awhile. I put in for a QUANTITY review after the very first RRECS evaluation three or so years ago. Management never even did the review. So, I filed on the issue. I should have been reverted to the previous 52 weeks as all raw mail as there is no sector segment under RRECS standards. Then, after the SECOND mini mail survey, I filed AGAIN because I should have been evaluated at 26 weeks DPS and 26 weeks raw. I retired about a year ago and am STILL awaiting the resolution. Also, with the 3M case where most carriers just chuck whatever in any spot , that mail is supposed to be organized into the separations the name of the case implies ; mis-sort , mis-sequenced , and mis-sent. That's where the 3M namesake originates. Management is supposed to count and record the totals from each category for the whole office and it does not matter if City and Rural are mixed and report those numbers so the plant can do whatever it needs to do to improve the quality of the DPS. Sometimes, it is just cleaning the lens on the reader. Anyway, just something to ponder as you do battle with those that do everything they can to alter, impede, or otherwise disrupt the flow and rhythm of your workday.
 
DPS has been atrocious for us; a medical company has been sending incorrectly addressed mail to every house for weeks on a near daily basis; some days like 20% of the route, others like triple that
hundreds of upside downs etc too
 
Yeah, I know it's good for the count but they are not supposed to process mail in an inverted position. We've all had plenty of days where upon if we flipped our trays upside down , we'd have MORE UPRIGHT mail. Anyway, check out page 2 of this ;
And to think I assumed it was the machines making the errors
 
Missequence, 3m, etc. Should count! Don't let them get away without taking that number. Union has a slideshow somewhere for the mms and in it describes the items to be counted in a box.

In case you did not know , from The RRECS Guide ;


Casing DPS Letters

While RRECS includes a standard (S009) of 0.0294 minutes per piece (34 pieces per
minute), the standard is ONLY credited in two circumstances. One was discussed above:
when the route receives fewer than 400 pieces of DPS Letters in a day, the quantity is
automatically defaulted to this casing standard. The second application of the DPS
Letters casing standard is when the route receives more than one run of DPS in a day. In
this case, the casing standard would be applied to the smaller run of DPS with the fewest
pieces. Again, this is an automatic default in the system.


See if you can verify that you and your office did indeed receive the appropriate credit for the smaller run of DPS. When we see " automatic default in the system" , well, they got the FAULT part right anyway.

Double run would be other office. My office just had messed up DPS which it all got counted the big chunk that were messed up or in trays that weren't label properly.

I average a big handful pretty much every day normally. Probably 50+ letters.

I have had multiple days of DPS with ZERO letters for other towns. Even the day after the holiday, with about 3X the amount of letters, had ZERO other town errors.

100% manipulated.
