New MOU about route cuts.

J
There will be mms . Only cut and added routes will be frozen . In my 90 route office that’s all of the routes . There was no cut in my office . And I would think even for affected routes mms will keep on happening to get the 6 month value of manual parts . It need to be inserted to get the eventual 52 weeks average
Just start having Evaluation Adjustments once a year (every 52 weeks), not every 6 months. Have them completed just after the RRECS/MMS results have been calculated.

Problem solved.

Many of the reasons why I retired early. I haven’t been on this site for 6 months, just came back to see how things are going and nothing has changed 🙄. Makes my decision one of the best I’ve ever had 😎. I hope you can all survive this!

Anyone have ideas how we can fight back? NLRB? We HAVE TO FIGHT BACK! This is unacceptable!
I’m with you. I advised my co workers to email the union president and tell him how disappointed we are with how the union has let us down. But I think we all need to file complaints against the union. The fact that we can’t strike because it’s in our contract? Makes it easier for them to continue to let us down

Yes . If nobody object to one or two pay periods of missing data at the least which will occur for sure . They can never perform with the same week as mail will be coming to old routes . There has to be a gap for AMS and plant to be updated . It has to be in different time . Otherwise same result as now would show up . MMS manual data’s also will be of full not cut route . If they can overcome these things , it is actually not a bad idea . Who knows they might move to this solution eventually. Lot of people likes idea of mms once a year already . I personally like the idea of 6 months mms more than longer period .

The timing of cuts should definitely be considered, it would be good to be paid the full amount your route grew to be for a while, before it gets reduced in size. If rrecs ever works as advertised, we all should be paid for the full value of what we are currently delivering based on UP TO twelve month histories of individual address values. I don’t like the idea that it is being expressed that it takes twelve months to get a daily average, it only takes twelve months to get a daily average if you flunked arithmetic. Our union reps should have to pass a basic math test before they can get on the ballot. For routes that grow in between counts, there needs to be an equitable process for evaluation increases in between counts, maybe there is one, I don’t know, but there needs to be a process that is universally known and that actually works as intended.
Yeah..it's called hourly

Yeah..it's called hourly
That point escapes everyone’s mind . We ( most of us ) want evaluated system but demand to be paid if ever worked over evaluation. At the same time believe it’s okay to be paid even working under time . It doesn’t work that way . Either straight time or evaluation assumption.

Yes it takes 52 weeks to get better average. It was 2/3 weeks for so many years. It didn’t work. Because for sure we have obvious seasonal variance in work . On top of it , new construction, Amazon drama etc are there . It will be never perfect, but for evaluation assumption 52 weeks average is more desirable than 2/3 weeks average

No you dont get it.
If I deliver to 800 addresses for a year, with the promise I WILL be paid for that work. Then after 12 months get cut to 600 addresses and have my pay cut, I WAS NOT PAID FOR THE WORK I DID.
My pay for those 200 lost addresses should not take effect until after 6 and 12 months.
It should not go into effect a month after the MMS.
People like you are the reason the USPS and union are actively and openly stealing from rural carriers.

There is no promise . You will get paid what is the delivery amount and corresponding evaluation at the time of your work . If your delivery address amount changes with adjustment your payment will change . 12 months of data and mms is to determine the evaluation of the route with intact delivery address amount . WE NEVER GET PAID FOR ACTUAL WORK WE DO . WE GET PAID FOR THE ASSUMED WORK ( BY EVALUATION) WE ARE DOING NOW . Otherwise we would continue to get paid for a route for 52 weeks if we leave that route ( quit , fired , retire or move to another route )

Since those of us affected negatively by this mou are being kicked back down to 43k on November 30, why couldn’t our union at least ask that the 52 weeks of data be from Nov 30, 2024 to Nov 30 2025 by adding a special mini mail survey?
They were too stupid, that’s why.
The data being collected right now is worthless and won’t be counted. My next evaluation will be from April 2025 to April 2026. This is retarded and the union let it happen.
I guess I’ll just jam every parcel in the mailbox and scan every parcel in the truck since it doesn’t matter.

I would argue that the 52 week period would start from the effective date of route cuts before the last mms. So July 2025 and then evaluated after the mms in Aug.

Yes . 52 weeks is attached to route cut , not the effective date of first freeze, as far as I can tell

Exactly!!!!!

Our office had 9 overburdened routes that we adjusted to 43ks prior to the Oct MMS. Out of the 9, 7 routes went up after the survey and 2 went down. I’m sure that’s has lot due to the delay in data collection and management tried to realign the routes at the same time. As for me, this MOU is good as I chose the high option and came back as a 46J (41K) so now I’ll be back up to a 43k with some back pay coming. But for the 7 routes that came back bigger than a 43K after MMS, they will revert back to 43k and owe back money. I think that is wrong. Perhaps put them back to 43K next pay period but NOT make them pay back money as this RRECS program is seriously flawed.
Exactly! We've been punished and overworked for years. This is unfair!

No back pay clause, here is how I think:

Yes, like that other guy said, the ones that were cut, most have been doing way more than their 48k pay cap for most of them the past 2 years. They have been greatly underpaid for the last 2 years, just who thinks it makes any sense to go after them for a so called overpayment for that last couple of months. Better yet, how about adding this to the mou? “Since we agree that both parties were grossly negligent, carriers that have had their pay capped at 48k since the inception of rrecs, will receive makeup pay for the difference of their evaluation and their capped 48k. Make a mou pay table that goes up as high as any route ever was.
THIS!

the data is meant to make a hypothetical eval of the next 6 months work wise you will complete. It’s the same way old count worked just more precise in many aspects and allows us to influence it by our actions. The data is not used to actually pay us for past work but the predicted future. Yes is a small difference, but it is also the reason we are not actually piece work and instead salary. I hope that clarifies it.

THIS! My route was a 48k. I was cut to a 43k in July. Next evaluation was 46k. Now they are saying I'm only going to get paid for 43k AND will be charged BACK PAY?????? Are you kidding me? So much was added to my route for years without compensation since it caps at 48k. WTF?!
I'm in the same boat! Infuriating!!!!!

Seems like there are a lot of us in the same boat. Some of us in our office are canceling our dues. Why pay a union that makes a deal with USPS to cut our routes back to 43k but keep the territory that was counted as a 48k. Then make us pay back what we made . They are like politicians. Working together to line their pockets as they take from ours!
