this thread is in danger of being shut down.
@DB.Cooper - at the risk of encountering your ire, you are absolutely wrong.
the information you posted is NOT from our employer and that's who calls the shots, not the other companies. postal regulations state that we are to remove offending item and take it back to the PO. that is not theft, it is doing the job by regulation.
now, you, someone's husband, wife or cat can get your panties in a wad over it, but the law is the law.
an old PM of mine wanted me to charge postage due and i refused. told him he needed to do his job and contact the offending party to come get their package.
additionally, if i am tracking a package from fedex/ups and it says that it was left at the door (because their scanners do not have a mailbox option), then that's where i'm looking for it. not in the mailbox.
i have also, as stated upthread, have taken upon myself to educate the idjets who work for the competition. not only have i threatened them with the postal police but have also told them they need to deliver their junk correctly the first time or they will do it the second time and explain to the customer why they lied about where their package was delivered.
i will be deleting the erroneous information as well as all the back and forths as they are cluttering up the thread.
