RCA's need to work 6 days a week?

ABCya et al -- "I personally don't think it's that people don't want to work. "

-- The people just don't want to wait around for months to finally get hired by the USPS.

-- As some have posted here, they found a much better job during the wait.
I can attest to this; applied in NOV 21, interviewed DEC 21, received a report to orientation email MAR 22 (three months to the day I interviewed with my PM), and I had all but forgotten about the position.

Lol too true. The only more ridiculous experience I've had on the job market is when I applied to teach in a prison. They wanted to schedule an interview a year after I submitted my application. You have to love the efficiency of our government.

If our association was worth its salt, they would demand that if RCA's were mandated to work anything more than part time hours that their Career status be change from Noncareer to Career. Along with that change all benefits that go along with it so that they are equal to those working full time hours!
Agreed. They get around this by categorizing employees. A simple solution would be to use a formula similar to the patient protections and affordable care act. It defines a full-time employee as an employee who works 30 hours per week, or works 130 hours per month. Regardless of how the employer defines eligibility for other company benefits, for health insurance, employers covered by the ACA will be required to use the definition.

Not an endorsement of the ACA, but a similar method could easily work without needing to change employees status or classifications. Pay out the same health premiums & give them the same sick and vacation leave as career employees.

Half true and half not.

I know people who don't want to work, but there are also people who realize that they aren't being paid fairly. Using USPS as an example. RCA aren't paid fairly for how we are treated and thrown around to the wolves. Now I'm not here to say we need $30 bucks an hour, but we should be well over $20. Closer to $24 to $25 based on where salary was in 2012 and if it kept raising roughly .40 to .50 cents an hour.

THINK ABOUT THIS!!!!

2012 RCA $19.45 an hour
2022 RCA $19.06 an hour ($19.50 whenever it happens) Then $19.95 an hour in Nov

100% agree. Just as my example above. 10 years later RCA are making less than 2012. I enjoy the job, just tired of the BS drama and what not. Why I transferred to smaller office.
agree with your facts here, but I believe the thrust of the comment was directed at the general work force who isn't interested in actually working anywhere. Those peeps don't know the situation at the PO, they aren't interested in working, period. Living with parents, a side job for cash, waiting for more government stimulus or extension of unemployment even for those who didn't work.
