Scan delivered for Customer Hold

Saturday, we were told to scan all customer hoIds as delivered. Is it just our office or is this a nationwide thing now? When I questioned why, the stupe responded that they are avoiding getting on a report for non-deliverd items. I figured that was a "them" problem and not a "me" problem. I told stupe that I would need that in writing or see the new policy.

******* SPOILER *******

Haven't seen the policy yet.

That is falsifying documents. There is a "hold" scan as well as a "closed business" scan for when this comes up on Saturdays. Now, there will be customers receiving alerts and / or tracking their "stuff" and wonder why it was "delivered" when their mail is on hold. Just go ahead and file the grievance. There's all kinds of issues with this . As far as that "report" that your management is trying to avoid , let them know to not worry as pretty much all of those "reports" are bogus anyway.

Been out a minute, so there is a hold entry now. Did they ever come out with a "delayed" entry for parcels not attempted for whatever reason other than hold, business closed, or not accessible?

Yeah, I've been out for about a year and a half myself. There was an animal interference scan and a returned to PO for "something" ( I don't recall ) . There is a no access scan. But there is a customer hold scan. Another issue is the accuracy of the RRECS mapped data. 123 Main St. is mapped where it actually is along with the park point and dismount door delivery point and yet is scanned "delivered" nowhere near the actual location.

Weather delay scan ? I got out about 5 yrs ago, no probation, upon release 😁 !

Managerial decisions make more sense if you view them through the jaded lens of PFP incentives. I would posit that most weird decisions, non-contractual mandates, and cyclical FOTM focus points are actually metrics that effect PFP amounts.

Granted, hearing a DM shriek about it over a telecon, with direct reference, helped to confirm my theories surrounding their motives.

Add: There is a scan now that lets a customer know their item wasn't attempted. It's something like Returned to Post Office Not Attempted/Delivery Delay. It's informative for the customer; so naturally, it's not a stop the clock scan, and causes district spreadsheet jockeys to attempt a scene-by-scene reenactment of The Exorcist, to try and justify their useless existences.

And whatever happened to that geofence thing ? It's gonna' look real strange with all of these parcels scanned "delivered" at ONE / THE SAME location when the actual addresses / locations are nowhere near where they are actually located.
