Oh yeah...Thrown under the bus again by idiots at union. For those who did keep a record they will pay you....Oh, but....Not at the 50 seconds in the first agreement but at the new 35 second rate. WTF. We performed the duty at an agreed rate and our fine union just threw 15 seconds each as a windfall to management.

SPM scan has been alerting me several consecutive days now at a certain address. However, at this address, the mail is on hold and will be for a while. So I'll gladly take the 50/35 cents as I drive passed the address and scan at the next stop ALREADY PASSED. <img title="Laugh" alt="Laugh" src="https://www.ruralmailtalk.ruralinfo.net/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-smileys/sf-laugh.gif" />

I really don't think they could have been much more effective in jerking us around on these things... they started out hammering us with NUMEROUS SPMs while not paying us ANYTHING for them... then when they FINALLY started paying us for them, they slowed to a trickle... then they quit paying us again, and started cranking them back up.... will they slow again when they start paying them again???
As far as I can tell, they've tried to make them as big of a PITA as they could... made it difficult for us to get paid for them... Mine asks "Is this address on your route today?" to which I answer "Yes"... and then I scan 0, and it asks "No more to scan?" or "Already Passed?"... to which I select "Already Passed"....
I supposed if I answered "NO" to "Is this address on your route today?", then it might all just go away... so far, I've never done that tho...

I've been marking these down for months, writing A or D on 4240 comments. I haven't been paid yet. Is it's management's responsibility to go back and figure it out to be back paid, or mine? How long do they keep 4240s on file?
@DB.....mine asks "is this delivery for 123 maple street" to wit i answer yes..and do the magic tricks it wants..or no if i have either passed it or it on opposite side of road...then it goes back to barcode scan screen. This started after scanner software upgrade 2 weeks ago....when the new opitions i.e. package look ahead+yadayadayada were loaded.
No longer displays work order opition that i can find.
Funny....since i routinely read the forum i was only one that noticed(and looked for and use) the new features..even "new" OIC was unaware..ignorance is bliss in my office...but then so is laziness and stupidity.....

How long do they keep 4240s on file? i think it is at least 10 years, maybe longer..
to get to the all ready passed address option, you have to answer yes to the is the address on your route today.
to recover work orders. hit esc, from the scan screen, back to where you hit enter for scan items, then hit the arrow up key, it will be the first or second option on the screen that appears. just arrow up again if not highlighted, and when work orders appear, hit enter

I find it hard to believe someone is going to go back through the 4240's and count the scans we had and back pay us.

They have a report that shows what houses are suppose to have SPM scans daily and this should be able to be pushed down to see which routes get these scans. It is all saved.

Depending on the office. The retention period for 4240s are officially 6 years. Some offices have 20 plus years worth.
