Union Decertification in progress. If we all do our part we will succeed!

What part of the country do you live in? I am upper Midwest. I have full coverage on my 11 year old vehicle for about $1100 a year. I live in a 2 bed, 2 bath apartment with an oversized double garage and an extra 7 ×20 storage area. I have no steps and it is a secured building. My rent is $1000 so I expect a little bump up at some time. The 4 plex is 15 years old.
Rent here in Midwest is 1100 no garage 1 bedroom apartment. Thankful I picked up current 4 bedroom 2 stall garage in the housing Crisis. Mortgage and insurance flood fire etc 700$ a month.

I just PIZZED myself off even more…..
going off the numbers I just said, not looking into the news rag for “actual” carrier numbers, just used MY numbers….
WE, DUES PAYING REGULAR CARRIERS, no rcas dues added…..
we regulars, pay the nrlca $3,729,000 per pay period!
that $96,954,000 per year! Almost 97 MILLION DOLLARS a year! From regulars alone! No rca money, no ptf money! 97 MILLION DOLLARS a year!
97 million a year, FOR WHAT? We don’t SEE 97 million dollars a year worth of representation! Yet people still “doubt” decertification! If 97 MILLION DOLLARS A YEAR, for this LITTLE representation don’t help you decide to decertify, then we’re ALL DOOMED!
(Again, I’m NOT for decertification, I’m only for the initial 30% to initiate the decertification process. Let’s show the nrlca we mean business, and we’re paying you $97 MILLION per year to work FOR US! NOT YOURSELVES! US! WE PAY YOUR OVERPRICED SALARIES! Do your jobs, or step aside)

edit: looked in the news rag, nrlca TOTAL membership is 110,419. I didn’t notice how many of that is rcas/ptfs……. So I’ll assume my 97 MILLION per year is a couple MILLION per year high….. let’s, for chits and giggles, call it 75 million per year! Still no chump change, no matter how you look at it!
75 MILLION per year for the nrlca! And we’re getting what?
This is really sad to realize

Podcast on Decertification of the NRLCA
^^Ron Speakman talks with one of the men behind the decertification of the NRLCA

^^PLEASE LISTEN TO THE PODCAST or visit the website for info regarding this process! We are not going to be without a union and we will not move to a union with unfavorable terms! We will stick with NRLCA if we have to! You are signing ONLY to hold a vote, not to immediately decertify the Union!

John mails out petitions to people who can not print, and he must do this with his own money. PLEASE donate if you can to help him with postage. Click this text for his GoFundMe page. Thank you!

The only way go fix things is to replace our union. It is not getting better anytime soon and no reason to believe it ever will. Current union is useless and they have no power over the USPS because they imposed a no strike clause. What was once a union that advocated for us and fought for us has been replaced by one that continually appeases the Postal Service that fills their pockets. This is a conflict of interest and it must be changed.

Here are just a few ways the NRLCA has failed us:
The inability to purchase back RCA years
2 tier pay system
Comply now grieve later
Withholding back pay for years
No interest on back pay
Cheated out of Covid parcel volume and Amazon for a period
2nd trips for misthrows
Routes over 48k only receive 48K pay (there should be no cap. Cut the route if it's that over burdened but pay the fair wage until it's adjusted!)
Vehicles without A/C and heat
Constant harassment about being "on call" but no "on call" pay and no real rule
Not making it easier to transfer across states (city side has a much better system)
RRECS being implemented and pay being cut before the kinks were worked out
RRECS as a whole
---add your gripe with them here, the list is long

My hope is that everyone would help with this initiative and do something about it in their station and surrounding stations. Go around and collect signatures (it doesn't take long), print and post the signature page in your office, repost the link on other platforms and Rural carrier groups, get in contact with your local media about rural carriers having enough and collecting signatures to switch the union. Exposure is necessary right now and we only have months left before our window closes.

I have been collecting signatures in my area and we are attempting to get the news involved. Anything that you can do to push this cause and get these signatures would be great. By this time next year we could be a part of Teamsters and in a far better position then we are now. Good luck to us all and I hope to see us under a stronger union next year!

Everything USPS with Jay H talking about the decertification

Live Interview with Jay H about decertification - Maston’s lies addressed

——————————————————
** UPDATE - 08/26/26 **

Article has been posted on NRLCA website.
Would be nice if the lies got addressed.

It did make me wonder if Maston was completely unaware that the RRECs numbers were posted online by the union for all of us to see? Only 36% of routes stayed within a fluctuation of 1-3 hours (so less than that stayed within 1-2 hours like he stated). Only 6% of routes stayed unchanged, damn near 20% lost more than 8 hours! Another 27% lost 4-7 hours! A total of 66% LOST money with RRECs, so the carriers don't know where the bell curve is that he’s talking about?

Bell Curve: A bell curve describes the shape of data conforming to a normal distribution

It was a steep drop for nearly 50% of employees. 16 thousand new routes now have to work 6 days a week! How does that conform to a normal distribution?!! Even they were blind sided!! “Most routes will go up or down by an hour or 2”… remember them telling us that? They were so far off, 50% lost greater than 4 hours!! And now Maston doesn’t want to address this and wants to say it’s 5 years of mail decline at once?! So what made you think 1-2 hours of fluctuations a year ago? Wasn’t there 4 years of declining mail volume when you guys made that statement?! It is obvious that NRLCA is in bed with USPS, they do anything to appease the post office at this point. NRLCA …. You don’t work for the post office, you work for US!

Not to mention that no one was given sufficient training, non dues paying members were not given access to critical information regarding their pay, and RRECS was implemented knowing that it was not close to 100% accurate, not to mention the countless questions we still don’t have answers to.
Can’t find any flaws in your logic.

I’m all for it!

Also how about cashing in annual leave time.
I’m all in with every word . Can’t stand where postal service has gone over the years. Been in for 36 years so far ugghh😖

The Majority Report (A YouTube Channel will 1.3 million subscribers) had on a writer this morning who wrote a piece about the decertification effort. Here's the video. I timestamped the interview at 18:51 Union Decertification Effort You Can Support?; Billionaire Ethnic Cleansing Of Nagorno-Karabakh

And here is the article: Rural Letter Carriers Push for Union Decertification
Didn't listen to it all as he knew literally nothing about what RRECS is or how our unions at po work ..
Not a good representation in my opinion....

I think this sums up any "union". "As for the unions, like any organisation evolved into life, they develop their own hierarchies and agendas, which more closely resemble those of management than those of the shop floor. They take form from the struggles of shop stewards, delegates, and negotiators within the union; as with our government representatives, they live in a hermetic world, separate from those they are elected to represent, and amassing power through their control, which is to say, their manipulation. The relation of union leadership to management is like that of opposing parties in Congress. Whatever differences they profess or portray, they play golf together, and, on the golf course, complain or joke about their constituents, who make it so tough to get along."

Maybe it’s that certain carriers are absolutely satisfied with the status quo. Those being the Table 1 carriers who joined the USPS long ago, bought homes while they were still somewhat affordable AND made more than the Table 2 carrier of today. Those carriers have absolutely no incentive to change the way things are.

Then there are all of the rural carriers that live in truly rural areas. Places where 2 bedroom apartments are still $800. Places where 2-3 bedroom homes are still sub 200k. These carriers don’t want to change anything because they are advantaged by the fact the USPS pays the same wage regardless of the cost of living.

To top it all off. These financial advantages put the Table 1 and “Uber Rural” carriers in a position to then have excess cash to be part of the union. Here we are blaming the financial burdened carriers for not spending their limited income on joining a Union that has not done a single thing to help them. The Union has actively kept these carriers poorer and consequently made it harder and less likely that they will then turn around and pay Union dues.

In addition. These carriers facing these financial challenges also have to endure with route evaluations that are forever changing. How can one sign a 12 month lease when they know that their income may change drastically within 6 months?

Sure when you have $800 rent a change in pay may be inconvenient but when you have $1500 rent for a one bedroom that bi-annual change in pay may be what makes you homeless.

When you charge people money to vote, you can’t be surprised when the poorer people don’t vote. All it does is perpetuate poverty, because it means certain people cannot afford to have their voice heard.
As a regular carrier with 34 years of service, who also lives in a Rural area where the cost of Housing and general cost of living is easily manageable with my rate of pay, I understand your assumption that some in my position would be fine with the status quo. However it has been clear to me for quite some time that our Union is weak and feckless. A stronger Union would be a welcomed change. In my humble opinion the Evaluation system has ALWAYS been flawed, RRECS is hardly an improvement. Based on past experiences with USPS plans of any kind being Implemented without having the most up to date hardware or software it is no surprise me that This new RRECS is inaccurate at best. There are 28 Rural Routes in our office, 95% of the Carriers are completely clueless about how any of this works, I think only 4 or 5 of us are Union Members. While "labor" is seeing a long needed resurgence, it will be an uphill climb to convince many of our coworkers of the importance of Strong Union representation. As we turn sadly into a country moving towards Oligarchy, Workers Uniting is more important than it has been since the early 20th century. I fear for the future of the USPS and the Country.

The Decertify NRLCA website hasn't been updated for a while. They were still at between 10 and 11 thousand signatures on Sept 11th- six weeks ago. No money raised either. It looks dead to me.
