For routes that have cbus/ centralized boxes only, how to make the coverage factor go up?

Since rrecs started, my coverage factor stays around 50%. I know for a fact I deliver to more than 50% of my address daily.

Solution
CBU routes are strictly credited by WSS/Boxholders & Informed Visibility (DPS, some flats, & packages) only way to raise is to cheat. Don’t get caught doing it.
I get it. The point I’m making is that you’re not delivering to 100% of your route on the days you don’t have a house to house. Why do you want to get paid for work you’re not doing?

The Plant isn’t out to get your office or route. They don’t give a crap about coverage factor. They have to push the mail out just like everyone else. You get it when you get it and there’s function assigned for us to get credit.

It doesn’t matter what day you get 100% if you only have one day that’s 100%.

It does too affect it if I continuously get it on Monday a day with heavy coverage compared to a Tuesday or Wednesday, it 100% can affect your coverage factor. I AM NOT SAYING I WANT 100% EVERY DAY!!! What I am saying is that the mail should be on time and day of deliver and not just magically show up on Monday and then guess who gets screwed on his coverage factor since Monday is already 90%+ day.

I get that it is 100% in 1 day. What I AM SAYING is that it does depends on the day you get it. Look at my example.
1st example is you get it on Monday boxholder. 2nd example is a Tuesday.

Mon 100%
Tues 75%
Wed 83%
Thurs 90%
Fri 88%
Sat 91%

Avg 88%

Mon 95%
Tues 100%
Wed 83%
Thurs 90%
Fri 88%
Sat 91%

Avg 91%

If that happens continuous monthly or weekly depending on number of boxholders, it can hurt the coverage factor big time.
Exactly. I can't in any way shape or form support RRECS current format. Just too many flaws.

I mean good example of this. I have to go down a 1/4 quarter mile lane to check mail box because person does put outgoing mail. I have to go down turn around and see whether she has outgoing or not? Instead as I told supervisor, what's point of going down the lane if person don't have any mail because picking up outgoing isn't going to give me credit besides half second EoS for tossing it in outgoing. Yes I do get travel time, but what's point if you have no mail?

2 solution, both of which I don't see happening ever.

#1 You get 100% coverage

#2 You get xx% coverage factor and the difference to 100% is given at a smaller credit because as you said you have these other issues and oh what about boxes you have to slow down to see if they have outgoing or not? Again the lack of awareness of this stuff is what frustrates me with RRECS.

#3 CBU coverage factor needs major overhaul

So example, I have 85% coverage as of now. I get 15% at smaller credit. Also CBU coverage factors needs to be fixed.

You are reading my post wrong @Twingrlie I clearly said these are 2 solutions to coverage factor being off and offer these as solution and SAID BOTH WON'T HAPPEN EVER. I am not advocating for 100% all the time.

The only reason your coverage factor is changing in your examples is because you’re using different numbers in weeks one and two. Use the same exact percentages for each week. Monday put 75% in week two instead of 95%.

Tell me a Monday where it is 75% coverage factor on a route (My route isn't even close to that). I'm trying to use halfway accurate number to represent a week and how when the box holder doesnt show up on right day, it can clearly affect coverage factor. I'm showing you how when mail shows up on days it isn't suppose to it will affect coverage factor.

Another way to look at it is, the random letters from the mms are .0647 random flats are .0862.

Central box (2bundle) is .1077
So about every 2 letters or 1 flat are worth a centralized box.

So if you have 600 central boxes 50% cov, you're missing 32.31 minutes or 500 random letters, 375 flats or 187 flats with 249 letters.

That would be the equivalent of 100% coverage everyday

If you go on NRLCA.org there’s a coverage factor worksheet to see if you’re getting what they’re saying. Track it for two weeks and see for yourself. It’s about 3% off when there was a guy that did it in my office.
I did it twice . Once for 3 weeks once for 5 weeks . With 3 weeks my counts was almost 1 percentage less than what was given . With 5 weeks it was given about half a percentage less than my own count . So for my route I am inclined to say it’s working

I’ve had plenty of offices get zero mail on a Monday. Plant screws up here all the time. The point I’m making is that the Plant doesn’t care about our coverage factor. They’ll push out the mail whenever it comes in.

Carriers have to get over the fact that we’re no longer paid for 100% everyday. We lost that with RRECS. The fact is, we don’t deliver 100% of our route everyday. Not one single carrier here can say they do. They’re straight up lying if they try.

This is information the Union needs. Send it to them.

Even if you get no mail, you will still have coverage factor. If they push mail out when they get it, how come EVERYONE ELSE AROUND has gotten their MSparks and not us? 10 days later nothing. I am not arguing 100% either. I just want paid fairly and properly when things show up at the right time.

If boxholder is suppose to show up Tuesday as a boxholder and shows up the following Monday, it is cutting into my coverage factor no ifs ands or buts as I demonstrate in my example, which you are more worried about not using the same number. I went to office today and pulled out my coverage for last week and I'll put boxholder in there again for you on different days.

Listen I just wan things done right and RRECS isn't cutting it IMO. It is screwing people over.

This is before Union came out with the form . I did it for my own satisfaction.3 weeks period actually was 2 weeks of 1st mms +1 week prior . And the 5 weeks period was just around or just prior they came out with the form . I used pretty much same thing they used in their form . With that I was content , at least as far as my route is concerned CF they are giving me pretty much alright . So I didn’t bother myself with that anymore .

Edit : I didn’t compare it against Radar report . I compared it against the bottom line —- the figure in 4241

If rrecs can be manipulated, then it has been corrupted!
The engineers obviously didn't foresee, how corrupt, it could be.

I think they are pointing out due dates of when it was supposed to be delivered by. The plant held it back to give on a later date. Which does negatively impact routes and usps knows it. That being said we deliver everything everyday regardless when due date is past or present. I will ask for managements approval to hold over a second or third wss, boxholder if due date is at a Later time.

I wish more rurals would just state it and get over the fact that the world isn't some moral happy place: The PLANTS ARE SPECIFICALLY SENDING WSS out ON HEAVY DPS/FLAT DAYS to purposefully SCREW WITH BOTH CITY AND RURAL CRAFT. Management up the line > when they can save on budget/labor costs > they get a cut in the form of a bonus. They work together to "organize" or "manufacture" situations that benefit them. Pushing as much mail as possible onto 1-2 days of the week has the effect of stressing carriers, and allows local management to get undertime (city) or bad coverage factor (rural) the rest of the week.

Those people up there even beyond district management... let me just say most are numbers people and many are very sinister about it; caring nothing of the toll it takes or who is getting cheated. I have received more than 1 tell-all through friends and family.
