Expectations for New Contract

We're gonna need more lube than a Diddy party. If anyone thinks we won't lose more than we gain, you're delusional. We will get a 3% raise and health insurance, union dues, and taxes will go up 4% and carriers will call it a win. They give us more, little, extra things to do and no way to pay us because of the micromanaging of RRECS. They will backdoor new time standards for RRECS by seconds that will shave time and money off of our routes and pay. Our union will fold faster than Superman on laundry day and call it a win also. You know who won't win, the carriers.

Why is the Nalc so stupid? They have gone 500 days without a contract. Why did they continuously agree to extend talks? They could have gone to arbitration and been done a long time ago. Now they’ve lost a tremendous amount of money in their TSP’s not to mention the economic struggle they’ve gone through in these extraordinary times of inflation and still no contract.
What a complete moron they have as their leader, and a drunk too.
We need to have organized protests/demonstrations or pickets or whatever you want to call it nationwide for ‘pay raises.’ And we should be coordinating this across all three unions, across the country.
It’s really a disgrace, there’s nothing else like what we’ve been through during Covid, and now we All can’t even get a contract.

$72,815= Our 40k top
$35 per hour

And we perform "faster and smarter" at that wage.

Wonder if this will happen

Postal math.....🤦‍♀️
National under time is 6 hours per week
6×52=312hours per year
2080-312=1768 hours

72,815 ÷ 1768= $41.18 per hour

41.18 x .04 = 1.65.
41.18 + 1.65 = 42.83

$75,724 = 4% raise The new top tier🤷‍♀️
so when they are saying "top" pay they are referring to the guaranteed pay line at 40k eval?

Bingo and also with the mileage, why do the carriers then have to scan the mileage in and out each day????????? Oh wait we have scanners that track us, they have to scan mileage, & geo tab??? Maybe just a bit overkill?
I haven't even been able to scan the mileage for a month because somehow the wrong mileage was put in and it won't accept the edit/correction mileage i keep entering. i just stopped doing it.

The Constitution gives Congress the power to establish Post Offices but it doesn't say it has to be run by the gov't. With that being said, I just don't believe the PO will be privatized. People have been running that scare around town for at least thirty years.
It was started in 1981 by Ronalld Reagan that was the first time I ever heard such nonsence
Anyone who believes the union is going to step up for you, definitely needs a mental health day.
That is why opted out of the union first time I have not been in a union for over forty years every job I had anywhere I was in a union I can not call this a union it is more like a chicken little show

Havent the previous raises been 1% and change, of course its a backpay situation, for whatever reason. What makes you think annual raises will increase drastically I agree its a joke. Good luck with whatever the result is 🍀🍺!
We all just need to start randomly saying strike several times a day so that the Post Masters can here the word let their imaginations get the best of them on their little brown nose calls with each other every day. they will believe that there is some sort of organized walk out planed. when management is trying to come around watching and micro managing just say the word strike they will wet them selves when they find out it being said in all offices. when the union starts wanting to know what is going on just act dumb the post office will think the union is behind it. if asked what you said just what I don't know what your talking about.

Does anybody know what's going on with our Negotiations?
The NRLCA and USPS extended contract negotiations after the NRLCA's contract expired on May 20, 2024. The 2021-2024 National Agreement remains in effect while the negotiations continue.

This is what's going on at the APWU.
"The 2024 contract negotiations between the American Postal Workers Union (APWU) and the United States Postal Service (USPS) are underway, with the opening day on June 25, 2024. The Collective Bargaining Agreement expires on September 20, 2024."

NALC and management have been negotiating since Feb of 2023. Contract ended on May 20 of 2023.

In two days it will make three Unions without a Contract. I don't understand how the USPS can get away with this.
They're the government

Scan the depart to route barcode you can edit the starting mileage or used to. Been a bit since I used gov vehicle.

Those were the days. Guy next to me back in 1999 use to just scan everything at his case before he left for the route-Hilarious it was! He also came in 30 minutes early and worked off the clock- Lame

I started in 2004 and this is what we did in my office back then, too. Of course, we might have a dozen parcels a day back then (and that was a heavy parcel day!)

I read about the East Coast longshoremen negotiations this morning. Their contract expires at midnight on Monday and they are threatening to strike if no agreement is made by then.

I've been following the rumors about the NALC (city carrier) negotiations on social media--their contract expired over 500 days ago (ours expired in May) and there doesn't seem to be any imminent agreement there, either, and it's just crazy that negotiations are allowed to drag on like this with no consequences. There is absolutely no incentive for the USPS to agree to a new contract, and even less incentive for the postal unions to walk away from the bargaining table as arbitrators decisions are historically in favor of management.

I don't know what the answer is here, and I'm certainly not advocating for a wild cat strike. I just don't understand why the process drags out for so long--surely after 500+ days the NALC has received a best offer from the USPS, haven't they? Do they expect the USPS to offer more after 600 days? After 700 days? Why would they? Management is fine for negotiations to drag on forever, and to keep on working under the terms of the previous agreements.

I know, I edit it and at the end of the day it has gone back to the original wrong number. The edits aren't saving.

Haven't heard anything concrete about NALC negotiations. I suspect small things like uniform $$ and time lines have been settled. I doubt economic tier has been agreed to at this stage. I think the big holdout is nalc trying to hire everyone as career in future. And I know they wanted to lower the career years per office for perks. Career time currently starts at 200 cumulative years and gives benefits to carriers for perks. The higher the office years, the better the hourly pay, ot rules and schedule for carriers. Also gives bigger training hours to new hires and a nalc office oji.

And currently, nalc stewards can request 20 minutes a week( per carrier) for hours to speak to craft in the unit. They don't actually need a field grievance to justify time request. If they have an actual grievance, they can request a whole day to research.

The starting wage is a huge factor in all unions negotiating now. Less about the long-term employment as they know those people will likely hang for at least some time benefits. But, new recruits are not sticking, not even applying for the job now. Unions are looking at low membership going forward if conditions worsen. And unions run on money. Especially, nalc with all their tiers of stewards, business agents and area fulltime people.

Ours hasn’t been keeping the edit/correction either, it does keep the return to office input, I’m told the entry is for vehicle maintenance.

What a pleasant dream. Butt, you shouldn’t be so demeaning, you should leave the adjective “little” off of describing the brown nose calls, face it, they are “big” brown nose calls.
